car help!!

hopealero_04emma21 Jul 2006 12:47
I have a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero and we have been thinking the transmisison is
slipping but now we just don't know.
Last night I had the cruise set and the cruise just kicked off and wouldn't
turn back on. Then I came to a red light and came to a complete stop when I
started back the car made a big thud and jerked going into 1st. It took a
little while going into 2nd as if the transmission kicked out.  I turned off
of the highway and when I was going up a hill, the car acted just fine.  When
I turned into my driveway my car died.
This morning on my way to work the car started up just fine, drove just fine,
and the cruise control worked.

WHAT HAPPENED>>>>>><<<<<<PLEASE HELP
