True, the torque curve on the 3.9 peaks out earlier, gas mileage is slightly
lower as well.

I do wish GM would ditch the whole series of motors, What would be nice is a
G6 coupe with the supercharged ecotec motor out of the SS cobalt, those do
not put out 200HP as listed, I think that number is doctored down a bit.
With that plus the weight savings of using an aluminum SC'ed 4 cylinder
would make the car scream.

The article also states that the big 3.9 v6 should be putting out a lot more
that just 240hp. And the  culprit is the antiquated pushrod engine. The
japanese are  putting out that amount of hp with smaller engines which are
also more efficient.

A pretty fair review, GM is headed in the right direction, I test drove a
GTP and it actually threw me into the back of the seat, which is a good
sign, a 5 speed automatic fo 6 speed manual would have been better though.
