hay great idea but i don't think its in the front because it drips on
the header pipe rigth around where it hooks up to the exhaust pipe. and
i also changed the oil about 3 weeks ago and it smoked a little bit
more but only when warming it up once it warmed up and the header pipe
gets warm it dose not smoke at all. the other day i checked the oil and
it was about a 1qt low and it has not smoked as bad as when i changed
the oil. i wonder if this is because the oil is a little below the
gastket. and the main bearing if it was leaking it would be between the
motor and the bellhouseing rigth. please if you have any more advice

I doubt it is the oil pan gasket.  You need to remove the aluminum
cover, clean it up, put it back on and drive the car a few hundred
miles, take cover off and inspect where the oil is coming from.  I
would guess it is from the main bearing or power steering pump.  Some
oil leakage is OK.

and, why are  you worried about this leak?

hi every one i just got a 86 porsche 944 turbo the car is in great
shape in and out. but there is one thing wrong with it. the guy that
sold it too me told me it did have a oil leak in the oil pan gasket. so
i took it to to a place that only works on porsche's (euroworks) in
matthews n.c.. and to replace the oil pan gasket it would be $1.495.00
dollars. he said it would take 14 hours to do. it seems to be alot for
just a oil pan gasket. if someone has had this problem befour please
let me know if there is a easyer way to fix it.           thank all of
