The AA are not 'insurers' of course - they are brokers. Like most brokers they look at your specific details, address, car type, driving record, etc - and then search for the cheapest quote from a 'bank' of insurers. The type of claims service you get will depend more upon the insurer than the AA. What I've learned over the years is that it is utterly pointless to ask other people for recommendations on motor insurance. A company that has provided a very competitive quote for driver 'A' may well provide an appallingly expensive quote for driver 'B'. All you can do is shop around each year and then compare two or three of the cheapest quotes you get to see what's on offer. I agree that cheapest does not automatically mean best - although it may well do.

Does anyone have experience of them?
Anything to be aware of? Seems Insurance is a minefield of small print so I figure lowest price doesn't always equal best.
