winter diesel12 Dec 2004 23:43 GMT8
I am looking into buying a diesel truck but am worried about winter
starting abilities.  I live in an apartment complex (SW Ohio) and have
no real way to plug in the oil heater. I was just wondering if it is a
real bad idea to buy one because its just not gonna start.  (btw,
K2500 Front Axle Help10 Dec 2004 05:57 GMT4
I just noticed a small puddle of gear lube on the driveway and upon
inspection found the right front axle shaft has popped out of the axle
tube by about 1/2 inch. I don't know ho far the truck was drive like
this but probably less than 50 to 100km. Questions:
95 Tahoe ABS kicks in constantly09 Dec 2004 19:36 GMT1
In my 95 Tahoe, w/ 150K miles, my ABS system kicks in almost
constantly when braking at slow speeds and occasionally at higher
speeds with only moderate braking. It seems to be ever-present when
pulling into parking spaces or making other slow/short manuvers.

How do winter tires perform in mud?08 Dec 2004 08:38 GMT8
I'm about to order winter tires for a Ranger 4x4 (probably Michelin
Latitudes); I'm wondering how they perform in mud.  Or should I be
looking at an off-road tire in a narrow width instead?
Chevy Blazer Stuck Hood Latch07 Dec 2004 14:46 GMT7
The hood latch on my 1989 Chevy S10 Blazer occasionally gets stuck (usually
when it's cold out). I tried lubing the latch and spring to no avail. I'd
like to increase the tension on the cable to get a bigger "release"....but
it does not appear to be adjustable. I tried moving the ...

1988 Suburban TBI stalling and choking05 Dec 2004 19:20 GMT1
5.7L with TBI: I replaced the knock sensor and the cap/roter. It still
starts hard and stalls and chokes under acceleration. It won't even make
it up a hill unless at idle. Touching the gas pedal causes it to choke and
sputter. Any ideas? thanks.
'79 FJ40 Rear Differential rebuild04 Dec 2004 01:57 GMT3
I may be needing one soon. The pinion bearing had some play in it.
What's a reasonable price for a rebuild? I can pull the differential
carrier and bring it to the shop myself (saving the axle-pulling labor
charges).

Steering pull02 Dec 2004 12:10 GMT3
I have a problem on my S-10 Blazer 4x4.  The steering pulls.
It pulls gently to the left when accellerating or cruising, then when I hit
the brakes it jerks to the right suddenly and then doesn't pull any more.
I have listened for noise from all this, and there isn't any that I can
