Holding back accelerating31 Mar 2004 23:29 GMT6
All, my 156 V6 24V has started to be hold back when accelerating,
specially when it has been first started in the morning. To describe
the problem, hypothetically imagine accelerating and folding the fuel
pipe, restricting the fuel and thereby the car is tring to accelerate

I Bumped my Bumper :-(31 Mar 2004 18:56 GMT4
Last Sat - I drove up someone's drive way in my 156.  Naff turning
circle and poor visibility whilst reversing led to me knocking off a
cap stone from a one foot high garden wall (low speed).  Result?  Some
lacerations to the rear offside corner of the (plastic) bumper (I can

DIY replacement of front main seal31 Mar 2004 11:07 GMT3
I've got a 79 spider which (surprise, surprise) leaks a fair bit of
oil - much of it from front main seal. I also blew a couple of valves
in the fall, so I currently have the head off so that I can have new
valves seated. I'm very new to DIY repairs, and I'm trying to get an
Replacement Alloys31 Mar 2004 09:24 GMT10
I noticed on my '99 156 V6 SP3 that the alloy's are begining to flake
around the edges of the circles. Personally, I think that a smart set
of alloys is the finishing touch of such a great car. I'm a little
annoyed that they have begun to flake, so to correct this I've got two

Connect NAV28 Mar 2004 14:35 GMT1
I'm interested in a CONNECT NAV system in an alfa 147. Is it a good GPS
system? Or is it better to buy a third party GPS system.
I personally favour the build in systems because you don't have any
front panels that you have to take with you when you leave the car. And

Could anyone give me an idea of a good cheap source for front disks
for a 2000 156 1.8 in the UK and how much they might be?

Alfa GT test drive26 Mar 2004 12:00 GMT5
I had the great pleasure yesterday of test driving an Alfa GT 2.0 JTS!
I'm not in the market to replace my 147 yet, it's less than 2 years old so
it'll be at least a year yet, but the GT is the clear front-runner to take
its place.

2.0 TS or 2.0 JTS?25 Mar 2004 06:17 GMT2
A good friend of mine wants to buy a 2L 156. Now, which is better? The 2.0
Twin Spark or the 2.0 JTS engine? I never drove a JTS-equipped car...
Thank you,
