Milan - weekend of 15/05/0413 May 2004 16:11 GMT1
Just found out today that a work colleague is heading off (from the UK) to
Milan with his father who has a 1963 Giulietta Spider. Apparently there are
about 100 attendees from all over Europe.
1) I'm glad he mentioned it as I had no idea his father had such a car.
Restoring a 91 Spider... anyone know where I can find a dash?13 May 2004 13:34 GMT3
Almost everything is back to 100% factory.  It sure looks and runs
great except that damn crack on the top of the dash... anyone have a
suggestion where I can find one?
Thanks,
abnormal sound?12 May 2004 22:41 GMT3
i own a 156 1.9 JTD with 110KKm on the clock (build 1999).
Since a week or three I hear this high pitch sound whenever reaching 2000rpm
(in every gear)
I've never heard it before because I used to drive with my radio on (normal
Alfa 164 workshop manual or wiring diagram12 May 2004 20:27 GMT2
It seems almost impossible to get hold of a workshop manual or wiring
diagram for my Alfa 164 2.0 TS.
Anyone have any clue where I should start looking. I've already tried
EB Spares in the UK?
Steeringwheel Interchangability11 May 2004 11:44 GMT5
Does anyone know what other steering wheels will fit a 75?
My 75 has a leather wheel that's gone 'sticky', and I can't find
anything to restore it - so the leather is currently coming off all over
my hands.
'Blimp' problem...10 May 2004 16:56 GMT3
When I close my 156 with the alarm, only the left-side lights 'blimp'. What
can be?
Bye ;-)
Power loss at 4000 rpm GTV 2.0L09 May 2004 07:37 GMT1
I took my GTV out for a blast the other day and I experienced
distinctive hesitation at around 4000 rpm. Every seemed fine up until
then, but as soon as take her over 4000 she holds back, (similar to
the rev limiter) then struggles her way on up to 5000, 6000.
156 Selespeed 'clunk' changing into 1st gear08 May 2004 14:49 GMT4
2000 156 Selespeed VL
In 2nd gear, braking gently to a complete stop.  As expected, just before
stopping it changes down into 1st gear. Recently this gearchange has been
accompanied by a distinctive 'clunk'. It's not _really_ loud, but definitely

Turbo on 164 if possible06 May 2004 20:18 GMT7
Could it be possible to put a turbo on the 164 3.0 V6 (183pk).
Since they have made turbo models etc ... I know it would be quitte an
operation,
but I'm willing to take that risk. If this is possible, where can I find
Air Con06 May 2004 20:10 GMT2
This might seem like a bit of a daft idea, but I love my car and don't
particularly want to change it. However, the only thing it doesn't have that
I really would like is air con.
Is it feasible to get air con retrofitted, or get parts of a scrap 164
166 Flat battery06 May 2004 17:32 GMT3
According to the handbook, trickle charging the battery or starting via jump
leads should only be carried out by "authorised AR services".
Is this strictly necessary?  The battery is not completely dead, but will
not turn the starter motor over.
Paint Damage on 15606 May 2004 01:33 GMT5
I have a 2002 156.  I noticed what I thought was a stone chip on the roof,
but on further investigation it looks like there is a problem with the
paint, as there are rust "bubbles" appearing in a number of places.
Is this an isolated case, or does anyone else have this problem?  I ...
Alfa SZ?05 May 2004 19:46 GMT28
I've just seen a really pretty looking Alfa, which I believe was an SZ, (after
a quick search on the Internet for pics). Very sporty looking car with 3
headlights on each side and a nice sounding engine. Anyone on here got one? Are
they rare / expensive? Any idea how much they sell ...
