156 - quirky electrics31 Oct 2004 12:15 GMT4
The left-hand speakers on my radio cut out from time to time.
Please don't laugh at the next bit (it's an Alfa after all) - if I
open/close one of the electric windows, the speakers cut back in again !!!
Any ideas where I should be looking for the fault ?

Alfa exhaust original vs pattern???30 Oct 2004 22:05 GMT13
I have to replace the mid section of my Alfa Spider  (99 V) exhaust
and have been advised to get oringial alfa parts. But this is over
twice the cost of say Kwik Fit. Are there any real advantages to
getting original exhaustss parts?
Alfa 155 8V Parts Required30 Oct 2004 09:29 GMT1
My 155 has been off the road now for 10 months.  Since then have gone
through 2 156's, a 1.8 Veloce and a 2.0 Veloce Sportwagen. Blew engine
in Sportwagen 1000m after 36k service. Too bad, I liked that car.
Any way, I really prefer my 155 as a drivers car and want to put back
where to fit oil pressure and temperature gauge to twinspark engine29 Oct 2004 22:40 GMT12
Just as the subject line says...
I would like to install a oil pressure gauge, alongside a oil temperature
gauge (i like gauges) but am not sure how to do this. I did this on a VW i
had a few years ago and it was just a cast of removing a bolt from the
147 T-Spark Service problem29 Oct 2004 19:42 GMT20
A little friendly advice required please.
A service is due on my 147 and we were aware that the cam belts would need
replacing and the cost would be quite high. I dropped it off at the dealers
today (Caledonia-Warrington) and when I called to find out when it would be
2 types of front brakes for 75 2.0 TS?29 Oct 2004 15:32 GMT4
It appears that there are two types of front brakes for Alfa 75 2.0 TS.  A
first assembly with brake callipers from BREMBO with double pistons for the
cars of 1896 to October 1989 and another in brake callipers from ATE for the
cars of 1989 to 1992.  Can you assure me this ...
156 V6 starter motor29 Oct 2004 13:40 GMT2
Just wondering if anyone on here has removed a starter motor from a 156 2.5 V6?
If so, how long did it take? I'm being told it's a 2 day job which seems a bit
excessive. I haven't actually worked out where it is fitted yet....
156 Centigrade and Farenheit28 Oct 2004 15:34 GMT4
Had my 2003 156 2.4JTD for about a month/1500 miles now and extremely happy
with it. However one thing is puzzling me - the climate control readout is
in Farenheit, although the owners manual shows it in Centigrade...........Is
there a way of changing this somehow? Or is it an ...
156:Handbrake warning light comes on when I accelerate hard.28 Oct 2004 13:22 GMT3
I've a late 2000 156 2.0. 27,000miles.
When i accelerate hard (which is quite a lot!) the handbrake warning
light comes on on the instrument panel. This happens mostly in second
from 3000rpm all the way to 7000. but also occurs in other gears.
How safe is an AR 16627 Oct 2004 20:59 GMT14
How safe are the AR 166's in a crash - lets say in a drivers side head on
impact at 40mph , does the AR 166 have effective crumple zones or is the
driver likely to be wearing the break pedals in his chest !!
Generally how are they rated .
Outragous !!!27 Oct 2004 20:06 GMT10
I just got a quote for my Alfa 156 to be serviced from a main dealer and
they quoted me the outragous sum of 415 GBP. It is for the 24,000 mile
service on a 156 1.9JTD. Please tell me I can get it cheaper somwhere else
and still keep my 3 year warrinty!
oil temp gauge27 Oct 2004 16:31 GMT3
My oil temperature gauge has never been above 80 degrees C on motorway
driving, in the city it's closer to 70 C.
It's that normal? (Or what is it supposed to show?)
Also, can anyone tell me where I find the switch for the boot light?
75 front wheel bearings and ball joints27 Oct 2004 06:56 GMT2
I need to change a front wheel bearing, and apparently my ball joints.
Anyone got a step by step guide / hints and tips?
TIA
Alfa 75 3.0 V6 or 2.0 TS?????27 Oct 2004 06:53 GMT7
Just wondering which is best ??? have looked at a few websites used to own a
2.0 TS but don't know what to make of the 3.0 V6.  Thing is is that there's
one local for sale and I'm very keen to say the least.
Appreciate all replies.
