Airbag warning light.26 Oct 2004 20:13 GMT7
Yesterday I changed one of the small light bulbs that
illuminates the speedometer. Quite an easy process,
just 3 screws and two connectors to disconnect.
Only trouble is that now, after remounting everything,
147 rear calliper reconditioning26 Oct 2004 18:57 GMT2
Hi,
Not been around here for a while.
I'm reconditioning the rear callipers on my 147 and I've hit a small
problem.  I can't remove the main piston seals, I've managed to tear

From Alfa UK.
And I thought they were selling like hot cakes?
Offers like that bode well, I'm just waiting for the new model hype to
subside slightly before jumping in for a new one with discount or a

They did it again!!24 Oct 2004 00:50 GMT1
yesterday when I approached my 156, I noticed that someone has forced
the lock by pushing a screwdriver or some other pointy object through
the door panel. This is now the 3rd time this happened in this car...
I know it's a common way of forcing the locks of a 156, but since
156 front lights23 Oct 2004 17:17 GMT1
My 156 has suddenly developed a problem whereby the front lights do not
work. The full-beam operates correctly, and sidelights, but not "normal".
I have checked the bulbs and also fusebox, anyone any suggestions?
TIA
Alfa Romeo 156 alarm won't turn off problem23 Oct 2004 04:33 GMT15
I have a 156 (X reg = 2000) and I tried to use it on the weekend only
to find that both of my car keys don't seem to be able to turn off the
car alarm. It's not the key batteries as the chance of both keys being
dead at the same time is very slim - and the key lights come on when I
Alfa GT 1.9JTD.. as good as it sounds?22 Oct 2004 21:28 GMT9
My basic question is: should my next car be a GT 1.9JTD? :-)
I've driven Alfa's all my life. My current car is an Audi TT though..
(I can hear you all think that's just a souped up Golf and nonsense
like that..) Prejudices aside: the TT is a joy to drive and I'm truly
155 reverse and fog light21 Oct 2004 21:08 GMT6
I've just changed the bulbs of the reverse lights and fog lights, but
the lights still doesn't work.
So I guess either it's the sockets or the wiring.
(I just wondered if this is a typical issue, before I start looking with

I purchased a brand new Alfa 147 jtd lusso  14 months ago.  Last weekend my
boyfriend said I could do with the wheels rotating as the fronts are now
worn.
Upon lifting the carpet in the hatch (for the first time)and getting the
Decisions, decisions...20 Oct 2004 20:17 GMT5
Dear Alfisti,
The Weber'd 1750 Spider is starting to push some oil out the tailpipe... blue smoke in wisps after
a long run at speed. I suspect worn valve guides as I didn't replace 'em at the last rebuild (Dec
'99 IIRC).
2 alfa accidents in Athens20 Oct 2004 20:02 GMT2
Two very bad accidents happened yesterday and the day before on the
same spot in Athens, Greece.
In the first an Alfa 147 driver running at 200 km/h inside the city!!!
lost control of the car which killed one person waiting at the bus
GT JTD Turbo lag?20 Oct 2004 20:00 GMT10
OK, I'm not even sure if "turbo lag" is the correct terminology here, but
it's my crude attempt to describe the feeling when you pull out at a
roundabout in second gear, underestimate the approaching cars speed, grin
