Desria vs Veloces30 Nov 2005 09:32 GMT5
I recently bought a secondhand 156 V6, for a cheap price with very
little service history !!! It was such a nice car to drive I felt that
I just had to buy it. I would however like to get it serviced in the
London area and although Desira was recommended to me by a former car

I'm hoping for some feedback on the following:
My 2.4JTD is now just over three years old (39k miles) and has been
looked after and serviced at all the right times, etc by authorised
dealers.
Engine troubles21 Nov 2005 15:32 GMT7
Hi folks. Really need some advice on some quite expensive repairs. Recently
my head gasket went so had head engineered and new gasket fitted inc all
new belts i.e timing belt and balancing belts. Cost £1200! Ouch. Drove for
about 40 miles and new problem. Garage says big end bearing ...
Alfa vs BMW vs Merc21 Nov 2005 11:07 GMT6
Can you guys give me your general opinion on the relative costs for
restoring these three brands.
For some reason I am starting a collection of cars and bikes from 1984

all the old great past=masters driving real F1 type cars in S Africa.
If they are over 45 and still able to drive a race car, they are there :-)

Recommended Dealer in East Midlands area?19 Nov 2005 22:34 GMT6
I've just moved to Warwickshire (Rugby to be exact), and I just wondered if
anyone could recommend a decent dealer - Independant or Alfa, to carry out
servicing on my 156.
I want to point out some body work troubles which I would want to be fixed
No oil pressure?!?!?19 Nov 2005 12:18 GMT4
Chimed up th' Spider to run some errands early. Just as I started to pull
away from th' hovel I looked down and ACK! 2-lb O/P onna gauge...
"UhOh..." backed gingerly into the slot an' shut 'er down... quick head
scratch, off with th' cam cover and pack some nappies around the trough ...
156 wet seat17 Nov 2005 21:22 GMT1
My 156 uuuum ahh has developed a leak. The spare wheel space is full of
water and the back seat is wet behind the driver seat, as is the footwell in
the back. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this, I suspect
the sunroof seal, but I'm not sure.

156 fuel gauge bulb15 Nov 2005 23:17 GMT7
The instrument light on my fuel gauge has gone out; clock and temperature
gauge are fine. There seems to be a single cable to these 3 instruments but
I can't find where the bulbs are. I'm groping through the hole left when the
stereo is removed.

When I push brake pedal, a yellow bulb indicator is turning on (saying
somethings wrong with bulbs).
The third brakelight (stoplight, as I do not know the exact term in British
and/or American English) is turning on, but the main left and right
