Bought my 1999 alfa 156 1.8TS a few months ago and it came with hardly any
service history, It's now coming up to 72,000 miles and after reading some of
the horror stories on here i think it will be a good idea to get a full
service and also have the belts changed at the same time. ...

147 JTD 16V - just had a second turbo pipe... apparently it rubs against a
stud on the engine so the replacement routes the pipe 1" away from the stud.
My friend had warranty rework done on his GT during his last service, so
it's worth asking about before you get the whoosh of ...

Had a low frequency knocking noise at 20/30mph so expected the usual
bushes/arm diagnosis from the dealer - turns out it was the pattern of wear
on the rear tyres. New rears sorted the annoying problem! (2mm tread left so
needed them anyway)
156 - centrol locking receiver unit...01 Feb 2006 15:07 GMT8
Just replaced the central locking receiver on my 156 under the boot becasue
it was locking the car and not unlocking it with the remote key button.
However now I have replaced it the car neither locks nor un-locks with the
remote key button.
