156 electrics - sense of humour required16 Mar 2006 16:10 GMT7
After a lengthy period without any problems, my 156 decided to play up
yesterday : the central locking wouldn't work (not by pressing the key fob,
not by inserting the key in a lock, nothing, nada, zilch). I tried many
times, but nothing.

low profile tyres + snow = kerb :(15 Mar 2006 01:05 GMT15
Depressing calculation:
(10mph + snow on ground + turn right) = (understeer + kerb + bump)
Alfa GT 18" aloys, now with nasty scrape and steering wheel shake increasing
with speed.
Air bag light14 Mar 2006 00:37 GMT12
I  have just repleced the deployed air bags in my alfa 147 but the air bag
light still on,  I can't afford going to any alfa romeo main dealer.  Can
anybody knows how to get rid of the light?
Please help mates
Alfetta GTV electric windows10 Mar 2006 20:33 GMT3
I've just bought a new (OK, old but better nick - you know what I mean) pair
of doors for my '82 GTV.  Only problem is my car has manual windows and the
replacement doors are electric.  Now, call me an old cynic but I'm far
happier with manual winders rather than 20+ year old ...
2.4 JTD Good For How Many Miles09 Mar 2006 06:44 GMT10
Looking at 156 2.4 JTD 01/Y tomorrow. FASH with 90k miles - how many are
these engines good for and is 90 a tad high on a Y for one of those. Cam
belt has been done...but it is due a service now.
156 Selespeed Lever Inversion08 Mar 2006 11:23 GMT6
Hey all,
I've recently ended up with a 2001 156 Selespeed Sportwagon and I'm
fairly happy with it so far apart from one thing - to me, the +/- on the
gear lever is the wrong way round.
156 2.4JTD: Fuel Consumption07 Mar 2006 06:50 GMT5
Did a run from Gloucestershire to Cornwall over the weekend, which was
great apart from the fuel consumption...26.8mpg!
Where's the other 14+ mpg gone?
A few weeks ago the dealer replaced the air flow meter, which they said

Thought you might like the pics of the Spider and Sportwagon.
I hadn't realised that the Spider/Brera shared the dash with the 159...not
sure if that's a good thing!

147 - easy DIY or not?
Hardwiring in a Radar Detector04 Mar 2006 22:31 GMT16
Just got myself a radar detector, as the points were beginning to mount
up and driving to the speed limit is not always an option in an Alfa.
Anyway, I quite like the idea of hardwiring it into the electrical
system, and there is a cable supplied with the unit to do just that.
Desira - serves me right ?!02 Mar 2006 07:51 GMT1
I've got a small oil leak (the odd spot on the drive - nothing major).
Thought I'd drop it into the local Desira for them to take a look and
let me know whats wrong. Spent 1.5hours waiting round today, and after
that time they managed to come up with the gem of "its very dirty ...
