I have a 156 as described above that is coming up for a cambelt change.
I am considering doing it myself......have done various others in the

presuming it can be done with engine in....does it need tilting to get ...

Noisy Headlights?25 Nov 2006 12:25 GMT2
Just put my 147 in its garage... turned on the 'follow-me-home' headlamps
(by flipping the headlamp stalk as if to flash the lights) - and heard a
really odd noise.  Sounded almost like a noisy fan (one with something
stuck in it).  Stopped when the headlights went off.

slow down or stop at lights the engine is rev'ing up and down, when
idling it goes from 1000revs to 1500+ and chugs when I drive slowly
10mph.

Hiya,

The passenger footwell in my Alfa 147 (51 plate) is completely soaked.
Granted it has been raining very heavily where I live recently but the
rest of the car seems fine. It's only me in the car at all times so I
only noticed it this morning when I could smell the dampness. It's

I'm planning on a slight deviation to my planned workload tomorrow to
call into the Alfa main dealer in Swansea (they've been an Alfa dealer

Battery 15616 Nov 2006 09:01 GMT4
Just got a battery for my 156 from Halfords & asked for their £5.00 to fit
service - at the time they couldn't fit me in, so I figured - how hard can
it be? and tried the job myself.
My modest set of tools were not sufficient to get to the bolt securing the
