156 1.8TS Starter Motor screech18 Mar 2007 20:50 GMT2
Typically in the morning, or even if it's been parked for just a couple of
hours sometimes, start the car and there a pretty awful, screech, squeal..
call it what you will from the starter motor.
Googling suggests that it's clutch dust csuung the starter to stick on the
Emissions Fail.... argh!17 Mar 2007 17:47 GMT16
Well, I'm a more than a tad pissed off with that.
9 month old catalyst has been diagnosed as being at fault when the 156
went for it's MOT - which I find a little odd.
Can anyone interpret the results for me?

Just got the magazines through the post...interesting comments about
moving the "brand" upmarket and the impact this is having on the dealer

to sell 20,000 cars a year in the UK.
What car if not a 156?11 Mar 2007 22:03 GMT21
If you loved your 156 but for some reason had to get a different car, what
would it be?
What would push some of the same buttons?
156 gta fog lights10 Mar 2007 20:07 GMT4
Don't know how, but the glass on the little round fog light has smashed. New

Full 156 interior I mentioned a couple of weeks ago on ebay is back on -
for £35 BIN or 'best offer'.
Just down the road, too.
Should I offer him 20 quid and settle on 25 then worry about fitting the
156 1.8TS Overheating02 Mar 2007 21:14 GMT11
I've recently started having problems with my 156 1.8TS overheating.
I generally use a local mechanic who I trust and can afford rather than
the local Alfa dealership, but we are struggling to find the cause for
the problem. I'm not a mechanic but am hoping we can find a solution
Newbie cam-belt woes02 Mar 2007 17:21 GMT12
Yet another cam-belt question, I'm afraid: I've just bought a 2002/51
156 2.0TS. It's on 39,000 miles and was last serviced at 30k, in late
2005 (the 36k service was performed).
While it's due a service, my immediate concern is the cam-belt,
