4wd wanted31 Jan 2005 05:25 GMT9
I'm finally cashed up and ready to buy a 4wd.
I'd like to get a SD33T MK LWB, like the one I used to have, as first
preference. GQ's are probably out of my price range. ($4-8K). So I'm
probably restricted to mid 1980's Cruisers or Patrols.
Pathfinder ad30 Jan 2005 18:51 GMT8
We were driving along Military Road in Neutral Bay on Sydney's north shore
yesterday.  The Pathfinder in front of us had a for sale sign on it.  At the
lights we were able to read the blurb - no off road driving.  Only on the
north shore!

Anyone bought the lathe Jaycar are currently selling

any of the "Accessories" are worth buying?

Has anybody tried these. They are a filter of sorts that modify the fuel.

Or is it just another Hiclone. I suspect the latter.

AM CB in Pajero.23 Jan 2005 13:17 GMT67
Hi all! I have just installed an AM only CB in my NJ Pajero. Please don't
ask "Why?" You will not get a response! I am only looking for helpful,
intelligent assistance here please. (Is that a contradiction in terms for a
newsgroup?) :-)
GU Patrol clutches23 Jan 2005 09:11 GMT14
Are 3.0 litre Diesel GU Patrols hard on clutches?  I'm thinking about
buying one.  I mentioned it to a mate of mine, who is a mechanic, and he
claimed that the 3 litre diesel GU Patrols are hard on clutches.
Is this true?

Does anyone know the towing limit for this vehicle, braked and un braked for
NSW?
The Dakar rally20 Jan 2005 02:29 GMT5
I was just browsing the Dakar rally site and looking at the race
leaders in the "cars" section. None of the top five are vehicles that
are often advertised as off-roaders. Neither are they 4WDs that I know
are damn good - LandCruiser, Pajero, Patrol, Defender, G-Wagen.
Towing limit for Nissan Navara's?!19 Jan 2005 06:20 GMT5
I have recently purchased a 2003 model Nissan Navara turbo diesel single cab
ute which I intend to tow a boat with.  The boat/trailer comes in at around
2000kg.  In their "advertising" Nissan state that the Navara is rated to tow
2.8 ton, however, on the factory heavy duty tow bar ...
Tyrepliars or Beadbreakers ?16 Jan 2005 07:34 GMT28
I've recently organized a tyrepliars kit. Upon reflection I'm inclined to
believe that for an old decrepit geezer like me I should of gone Beadbraker
(The socket method...note my mech knowledge at this time of the morning).
Anyone care to throw a constructive comment for a die hard ...

Bushrangie max-air compressor...14 Jan 2005 23:58 GMT3
Had a crack with the max-air the other arvo to see how it'd go on a 38"
swamper, having never used it on these tyres. It took over 5 minutes to
go from 22 to 24 psi.
I then packed it up in disgust and drove down to the local servo to do
