New Prado. 26 Apr 2005 23:44 GMT20
My eldest bro just bought a new (2005) turbo diesel Prado with all the
glitzy add ons (except a bullbar and driving lights). Only bought it to tow
a huge van (which he's yet to buy). No serious 4wding, not even any dirt
roads :((
Anyone used Jet A1 in their diesel?22 Apr 2005 13:37 GMT32
I can get JetA1 (jet kero) from  work.
Depends on who you talk too, some say it's OK for diesel's if you add a
little oil to it , others say don't use it at all.
If so, what oil and how much?

I went and test drove a new VX Prado today. The sales guy said that the
new 1KD-FTE common rail turbo diesel engine - the one that is just out
in the HiLux will soon make it into the Prado in Australia. Its more
efficient, more powerful, cheaper to maintain and much cleaner ...

Jeeps or heaps ? :)21 Apr 2005 03:35 GMT13
Guy just rolled up with a nice shiny red Jeep. Told me about the manifold,
cat converter woes, O2 sensor etc. Spent heaps on his "new" 4wd already.
As he went to leave we noticed water dripping from the chassis...not the
engine. A lot of water. Poor buggar, he's seriously thinking ...

Driving with The Hubs turned on with 2WD / 4WD19 Apr 2005 01:23 GMT7
A couple questions if anyone can help "using a 93 Nissan Patrol 4.2 or 80s
Toyota Land Cruiser 4.2"
1. When you lock the front wheels in and you change the gears from 4WD to
2WD and stay in 2WD for short/long term can this do damage
How many K's out f a diesel?15 Apr 2005 05:53 GMT5
I know, a difficult question along the lines of how long is a piece of
string.
I'm in the process of buying a '96 Hilux, "Tamworth LE" no less!
2.8 ltr diesel with 200,000 k's. - $14,500.

Exhaust for 22R 4Runner14 Apr 2005 14:24 GMT4
The muffler on my 1990 4Runner is almost kaput and Toyota don't supply them
anymore. I've done a bit of Googling, and some people reckon that a less
restrictive muffler and tailpipe make a big difference to performance. It's
the 22R (4-cylinder petrol) version and it's been a great ...

Howdy, just about due for some new tyre's. Presently Hancook 275/70/16's.
