Contesting QLD Speed Camera Fine...14 Apr 2004 23:01 GMT22
A couple of weeks ago as I went past a speed camera, it flashed. I thought
nothing of it at the time, as I'd been driving at the speed limit and
figured that it was the car that was gaining on me from behind that it'd
flashed. Well it must have been set up to take photos of cars ...

Hard to shift from 5th to 4th14 Apr 2004 14:48 GMT15
Car: 1991 Daihatsu Charade, 3 cyl, 5sp manual.  113,600km.
Sometimes it becomes difficult to shift from 5th to 4th - my gf has
accidentally shifted from 5th to 2nd a few times because she hasn't been

8-seater options14 Apr 2004 12:46 GMT8
I am looking to buy an 8-seater van. As far as I can see, my options
are Mitsubishi Starwagon, Volkswagen Caravelle & Toyota Tarago (Please
let me know if you are aware of any others - most vans are 7-seaters
only).  I don't really like the Tarago that much, mainly due to the
Evaluation GTO14 Apr 2004 11:58 GMT16
Yesterday on the way home from work, I saw what I thought was a Monaro
with 'left hand drive' stickers plastered all over it.  Closer inspection
revealed it was badged as a Pontiac GTO with 5.7 badges on the side.  It
also had a big 'Evaluation Vehicle' sticker on it.  Looks ...
Twin exhausts are back...14 Apr 2004 10:37 GMT41
..so it would seem.  First the Mazda 6, then the Honda Accord (Euro) and
today I noticed a new Subaru Outback (presumably the 6 pot version?).  Very
neat, just like the old days.  I don't really know why they ever went away,
although I suppose the hot european cars always had them.
Okay computer nerds, why didn't you go to Easternats?14 Apr 2004 08:20 GMT1
Good smash repairer14 Apr 2004 07:19 GMT1
I hit a kangaroo on the Western Highway recently.  It busted my 1 year old
Mitsubishi Verada front end, air conditioning, etc.
I want to put in a good word for "Learmonth Road Smash Repairs" in Ballarat.
It took ages for me to get to the front of the queue... 5 weeks with no air
F1 cars too fast...14 Apr 2004 06:10 GMT5
As per the ABC:
http://www.abc.net.au/sport/content/s1084582.htm
I know how to slow them. Let them race at Bathurst, or the old Nurburgring
or any of the other circuits closed as "too dangerous". Maybe they have to
pointless sniping at people14 Apr 2004 02:07 GMT40
It recent times there seems to be a selection of posters who appear to
desire social validation of their particular marque alliegance or
purchasing decision. To the point where they will fill threads up with
worthless aggro posts
Toyota Soarers14 Apr 2004 01:46 GMT4
Anyone out there own a soarer?
I was thinking of getting a V8 version.
Spares/service seems to be readily available and I assume they are reliable
(unless abused in a previous life).
A Joke.14 Apr 2004 00:18 GMT14
No not Ron....
This was emailed to me, I thought you'd appreciate it.
The other night I was invited out for a night with "the girls." I told
my husband that I would be home by midnight. "I promise!" Well, the
