My car repairs itself17 Mar 2006 13:00 GMT13
I took the toy (an old Chev Impala) out for a run the other day, it started vibrating a fair bit,
with a thump, thump, thump that could be felt through the steering wheel.
Stopped the car, jumped out expecting a flat tyre, checked the tyres, they are all fine.  Have a
quick look ...

Hiace Commuter vs SLWB?17 Mar 2006 10:34 GMT1
Can anyone tell me the difference between the old body shape Commuter
(2004 and prior) and the current SLWB Hiace? I'm considering a camper
conversion and unsure if it's worth the trouble getting the SLWB. Does
the SLWB have better fuel economy (petrol), better engine, etc?
Whats the standard length of a parking space in Aus?17 Mar 2006 08:23 GMT21
Does anyone know the standard length of a parking space in Australia?  I'm
guessing it would be between 5.5 and 6.0 metres, certainly not less.
Is there any standard used?

2004 models at $30k.
I wasn't happy about it as their build quality is poor, and their interiors
What would you reccomend.17 Mar 2006 07:56 GMT12
A friend has $8k to $10k to spend on a car.  He wants something pretty small
and ok on juice.  I am suggesting a Magna.  The savage depreciation really
makes them good buying on the S/H market.

From The Weekend Herald (Newc edit), Sat, 11 March 06.

Watching the news over the last few days several things occurred to me,
as Aussies we used to have a pretty good reputation about responsibility
and owning up, in my work I still do because if I make mistakes and
don’t fix them a life could be lost or injured on certain work ...
Commodore badging17 Mar 2006 00:41 GMT15
I have recently noticed that some VZ Commodores have the "Alloytec" badging
on the front guards, whilst others do not...  Was this a mid-model running
change, or something else?
(Specifically, I have noticed this with a number of Police vehicles here in

Mildura Mitsubishi dealer.  Briefly:
1. They attempted to sell me a battery that I didn't need
2. They electronically disabled my car until I bought the new battery
