CV Joint cover replacement05 Apr 2006 11:00 GMT3
Toyita quoted a friend $155 to replace the CV joint cover in her

30 km/h zones ... back-pedalling in WA05 Apr 2006 10:46 GMT42
Earlier this month (a month is an eternity in politics), our beloved
Grant Dorrington unwisely (i.e. usual manner) decided to get his
face on the media and start blabbing on about 30 km/h.
The new Premier, Alan Carpenter quickly jumped on the idea stating
Navara D22, 3 litre turbo diesel, May 2005 build05 Apr 2006 10:24 GMT1
Have done 40,000k's and the vehicle shows heavy sludging (oil
condensate) on the forward of the two inlet manifold ports. No evidence
of turbo seal damage or excessive blow by nor valve guide wear, ie no
exhaust discolouration at all. Have been informed that the ETR valve

Taxi owners switching to Avalons05 Apr 2006 00:05 GMT10
Seems that Ford is losing some business to Toyota in the Taxi-cab stakes. It
started out as one or two,..now there's heaps of them.

Self Repairing Paint ?04 Apr 2006 22:15 GMT3
One of the biggest piss-offs in owning a nice car is the little dents and
scratches dished out by careless arseholes in car parks. My car is typical
of most new cars and has no side protection strips. They were quite common
in the 70's and 80's and seemed to work quite well, but ...
Anything to look for in XR6 Falcon?04 Apr 2006 13:05 GMT4
Heya all,
The better half is seriously considering trading in her old car for an
'03 XR6 (non turbo).  It's got about 45,000km on the clock and looks to
be in as new condition.

VP Calais Trip Computer Chiming04 Apr 2006 00:59 GMT5
I had to replace my trip computer with a second hand one and for some
reason this one chimes as soon as I start moving, then chimes every 30
seconds or so.  It's not the fuel or overspeed warning.  Would it be
possible that it just needs calibrating, or is there something else I
How long does a glow plug live for?03 Apr 2006 13:22 GMT21
Normally when I start the Hilux, I glow the plugs until I hear the
*ding* and then I turn the key once and it kicks over pretty much
instantly. So much so that I'm in the habit of letting go of the key as
soon as it gets to the fully turned position. Very quick.

I had a look at a new station wagon today.  The driver door rattled on
closing, the sunglass holder felt as it was going to fall off, the
interior looked dated.
