I went on a road trip with the missus a few weeks back. The plan was to see great ocean road over a few days... but we didn't quite make it. She decided to take our relationship to the next stage by rolling and writing off my car on the first day of the trip.

Thinking of getting a Commodore wagon. Disappointed to find they only have 15 inch tyres. My 2001 Falcon came standrd with 16 inch. Does anyone have experience of both 16 and 17 inch on Commodores?

Wonder why manufacturers still use drum-brakes on the rear of cars. Usually it only applies to smaller/lighter or lower power cars like the 4 cyl Camry. Is it because handbrakes work better? Tho that doesn't follow the weight/engine size rule.

My son's VL Commode came with a legacy of insufficient oil changes apparently. The sump (which I removed for an inspection - bugger of a job) was full of crud - about 1cm thick. After cleaning it out and a further 30,000km or so, it is again full of crud.

Sorry for shouting but...every morning when i start the car the radio fires up at full pelt and scares the bejesus outta me. It only happens when the car is cold, ie below 10 degrees, which is every day at the moment. The volume knob does not respond very well to turning either ...
