Rollin Rollin Rollin31 May 2006 22:25 GMT36
I went on a road trip with the missus a few weeks back.  The plan was to
see great ocean road over a few days... but we didn't quite make it.
She decided to take our relationship to the next stage by rolling and
writing off my car on the first day of the trip.

Does anyone have experience of both 16 and 17 inch on Commodores?

Drum brakes still used?31 May 2006 15:58 GMT25
Wonder why manufacturers still use drum-brakes on the rear of cars. Usually
it only applies to smaller/lighter or lower power cars like the 4 cyl Camry.
Is it because handbrakes work better? Tho that doesn't follow the
weight/engine size rule.

VL/RB30 "permacrud"31 May 2006 08:22 GMT72
My son's VL Commode came with a legacy of insufficient oil changes apparently.
The sump (which I removed for an inspection - bugger of a job) was full of crud
- about 1cm thick.  After cleaning it out and a further 30,000km or so, it is
again full of crud.
