I just bought an '97 series 2 EL XR 8. Its manual and I just drove it home along the highway and was surprised at how high it revs while doing 110klm/h. It was doing about 2450RPMs @ 110klm/h. My old 6-cylinder EA falcon, manual, only does 2150RPMs @ 110klm/h.
