Does a nudge bar (or even a bull bar) in any way affect the potential
operation of a 4wd's airbags?
Someone said to me it can - but I see a hell of a lot of cars with bull bars
that do have airbags.

I have an Dec 2002 v6 manual camry, it has worked flawlessly since i've
owned it.
Yesterday, I did a fiar bit of driving around, mix of short and long trips.
Car started fine on all occasions.
