I have a 1996 VS Commodore whose ceiling is all falling down. Someone
told me that the basic idea is to:
1. pull out the plastic ceiling 'corner thingies' that hold up the
ceiling, which will then come out completely.

Here's a page of pictures showing a new highway a little before it
opened to the public in Germany. It's a federal highway being used
as an Autobahn placebo so it's designed to carry a lot of traffic.
