Front fog lights in Victoria18 Jul 2009 10:09 GMT28
Apologies if this is already widely known in this forum.
It is now illegal in Victoria to use front (and rear) fog lights except when
there is fog, or inclement weather.
I'm not quite sure when the law changed, (middle of 2008?).  Front fog
window tint18 Jul 2009 07:29 GMT2
My VS Commie is surplus to requirements, but failed its RWC. One of the
things needs to be done is removing a too-dark window tint. Must have been
applied after the last RWC I guess. Is there an easy way of doing this?
   Cheers
Cop car on F3 tonight17 Jul 2009 10:23 GMT2
Driving north from Sydney to Newcastle between 6 and 7 tonight I saw a
cop car doing something I haven't seen before. It was on a two lane bit
(after the twin servos I think) going slower than the traffic flow in
the left lane. It had a red led style sign at the rear telling ...

Unmarked Police Vehicles17 Jul 2009 05:17 GMT17
Bloody hell the Coppers up here in SEQld are either getting sneaky or they are running out of money
to buy better cars. Saw a couple of days ago a Honda Accord with Red and Blues pulled a guy over on
the Gateway motorway, also seen a grey Rodeo Dual cab recently as well, been ...
VT Electrical Gremlins?16 Jul 2009 12:58 GMT23
Can anyone help diagnose the following:
VT Commodore battery going flat. After 24 hours the car will usually start
but, leave it 36-48hours and it won't crank at all. Leave it a week and all
radio/dash indications are gone and central locking won't unlock the car
The "Knob"16 Jul 2009 12:33 GMT1
A woman visited a plastic surgeon who told her about a new procedure called
'The Knob,' where a small knob is placed at the top of the woman's head and
could be turned to tighten up her skin and produce the effect of a brand
new face-lift. Of course, the woman wanted 'The Knob.'
Queensland Police prosecutes 60 year old Pensioner...16 Jul 2009 09:34 GMT13
Queensland Police, in its infinite "wisdom", are prosecuting a poor 60
year old Pensioner for posting a link on the Internet, of a Russian
Circus family:

A driver statistic I'd like to see16 Jul 2009 09:32 GMT1
As the driver education/testing has been made more strict in Vic over
the past 5 or more years (IINM) it would be very interesting to see
whether P plater accident involvement (not fatalities) has gone down
at all, and whether number of fines issued to the same group has gone
Due to traffic congestion on the Westgate, we've turned your tunnel into a parking lot!16 Jul 2009 08:09 GMT4
God dammit, I'm so sick of hearing that stupid message everytime I take the
tunnel into the city.  Is there ever a time when the Westgate ISNT congested
with traffic, and emergency vehicle access WOULDN'T be needed?!?!  What's
the point of a 3 lane tunnel if 1 of the lanes is ...
Rod Easdown caught "hooning"16 Jul 2009 06:45 GMT12
Just in. Motoring journo, Rod Easdown was pinged for doing 220 km/h in a road
test Ferrari. He faces a loss of licence. The Ferrari was impounded for 7 days.
Now, if they bring in the crushing cars of hoon laws, what would the Ferrari
importer have thought if its Ferrari was ...
Latest accident on Hallam Rd15 Jul 2009 07:58 GMT27
No doubt you all heard about the death of a girl at the corner of
Hallam and Ormond Rds in Lynbrook/Hampton Park  yesterday.
As it's just 5 minutes from my house I thought I'd go to see if there
were any skid marks.
