New tyres best on rear wheels?19 Aug 2004 21:03 GMT10
I will be getting two new tyres for my 2000 A3, as the front wheels treads
are wearing.  A friend said that new tyres are best on the rear wheels (even
irrespective of whether FWD or RWD).  Is this true or a myth?
Cheers
Audis Not Reliable after 100,000 kilometers??18 Aug 2004 20:28 GMT9
Saw a post in another thread that said Audi's are less reliable after
100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles.  Have a '99 A4 1.8T at 54k miles, with an
expensive service coming up at 60k miles.
In the last year, I've replaced both headlights, fixed the pneumatic locks
I know...I know....I know..but...18 Aug 2004 20:10 GMT6
do you seriously go 10,000 miles between oil changes? We all grew up on the
3,000 mile deal. Is it synthetic? I just bought this A4 with 15,000 and it
says I'm not due till hell freezes over!!!!!

Greetings All,
I just bought a new 2004 2.7ts and have just completed the 1K mile break-in

I was wondering if I could solicit some opinions from other owners on the
Oily Audi17 Aug 2004 22:03 GMT1
My cylinder head has gone in my 93 Audi 80 resulting in there being more
oil in the water tank than in in the sump. I have a second hand 1Z engine
to replace the old one but need to flush the oil out of the water system.
Can anyone suggest the best way to do this?

I saw an A6 2005 today17 Aug 2004 04:58 GMT3
It seems to be an Euro-spec demo car for American market.   It was blue,
3.2L manual, no sunroof, no leather not even sure if it was Quattro.   With
a license plate from Michigan (carmaker specified).  At Audi Lauzon, Laval,
Qu?bec.

Odd Shifting TT16 Aug 2004 09:23 GMT3
At times when I shift to second or third gear, the engine continues to
rev as if I haven't removed my foot from the gas pedal. Dealer insists
nothing is wrong. They think it's the way I shift....It's not ! Any
ideas ? thanks.....
Tow hitch on '99 A6 2.8 Quattro?13 Aug 2004 17:41 GMT2
I've got a '99 A6 2.8 Quattro that I would like to take cross country soon.
I'm curious what you all think about getting a tow hitch installed to lug
some furniture and a motorcycle?  Is this something I should have the dealer
do?  Any recommendations on specific types of tow ...
Child's car seat12 Aug 2004 23:39 GMT1
I'm told there is a child's car/booster seat for my 2001 A6. The one I have
doesn't fit exactly right and I'm afarid it will eventually damage the
leather seats. Anybody know if there is one made for an A6?  I've searched
the Audi site to no avail.
Fourtitude.com , New Audi Website12 Aug 2004 23:24 GMT1
I am one of the folks behind a new Audi website called Fourtitude.com
www.fourtitude.com . I'm trying to help get the word out about the site, and
see what people think of it.
We've got a bunch of new articles on the website, including coverage of
How much should I expect to pay for a 2004 Audi S412 Aug 2004 23:13 GMT4
With the options I'd like (premium upgrade, heated seats, shades)
edmunds says invoice is 44,800 and 'what others are paying' is 49,700.
So somewhere in the middle of those 2 figures? Or maybe I should aim
for invoice as the sales person and dealer will still get paid(?)
