High profile tyres for Allroad?11 Sep 2004 19:36 GMT3
I'm considering buying an Allroad, which I'd like to at some point take
through remote outback Australia across some long rough unsealed roads.
My question is: should I be concerned about the durability of the
low-profile tyres, and if so, is it possible to fit it with more ...
Fan on '02 A6 with 3.010 Sep 2004 19:32 GMT2
I have an A6 with the 3.0 engine.  The two electric radiator fans are on all
the time.  Cold start, even very cold out (20 degrees F) and you turn on the
key and both fans start-up. The only time both fans are off is when the air
or heat is completly off.  According to the dealer.. ...

I just bought a 2004 S4 and just installed my radar detector.  I have always
"hard-wired" the thing in prior cars since I don't like the dangling power
cord going to the cig-lighter.
All prior vehicles have had an accessory fuse that I could use that only has

Having just bought one of these, I need to get the timing belt

the difficulty level?  I've changed belts on the Audi 100 5-cylinder

it in to the dealer for the 60K service and received the following news:
There is play in the lower control links and they must be replaced at a cost
of $1400 US.

Audi A6 estate (1996 -UK): boot won't open06 Sep 2004 15:32 GMT2
This is a very recent purchase.  The boot opened in the presence of
the seller, but trying it yesterday, it won't open with the key in any

locking  respectively (as it should) but the lock cylinder simply

2001 A6 got wet... advise?  experiences?05 Sep 2004 04:19 GMT4
My 2001 A6 2.8 Quattro got wet last weekend because of the heavy storm
(Philadelphia, PA).  It took in water, about 1 foot high, up to the
level of the power seat switches.  All the electronics are screwed up,
the engine won't start, etc, etc, etc.
New A6 3.2 Quattro05 Sep 2004 04:11 GMT4
Why is this only available with a tiptronic gearbox?  I think I'm right in
saying you can only have a manual gearbox with a non-quattro 3.2, in the UK
anyway.
Looked a lovely car in the showroom I must say.
