| 1999 A6 avant - opinions | 14 Apr 2005 04:42 GMT | 5 |
Thinking of purchasing an 1999 A6 quatro wagon, but with 70,000 miles on the clock, (although there are 1 or 2 others in that 'neighborhood). They are all in the $12000 range. I really hadn't considered a car like this, but when I sat in it, (I'm 6' 4" and it has the best leg room ...

| audi concert, cd function | 13 Apr 2005 22:59 GMT | 3 |
Has anybody had any difficulty playing cds using the concert radio? Occasionally, when a cd is inserted, the disc spins up and the display automatically goes into cd mode. Nothing unusual there, except no sound comes through. Volume is turned up, the display behaves completely ...

| 2003 A4 3.0 Speed limiting in ECU | 13 Apr 2005 19:25 GMT | 25 |
Please don't chastise me. But in the name of science I took my A4 out on an empty highway near me yesterday. After some test runs up and down this road to nowhere, looking for speed traps. I tested to see if it was indeed programmed not to exceed 130MPH. At 135MPH I felt my

I got this thing in the mail offering a discount to join AAA. What I wonder about is, why do they want the persons birthdate? And the birthdate of each member? Do they really demand it or are just trying for it. With my fear of identity theft, I feel I shouldn't be giving it

| GUESS WHAT? | 12 Apr 2005 11:15 GMT | 49 |
It so happens that my car has now been suffering from the "steering rod, upper-control arms" syndrome for a couple of months. Well, it's a '98 so nothing totally unexpected as the forums abound in which messages can be found regarding such a problem.

| A6 Starting Difficulties | 11 Apr 2005 22:50 GMT | 4 |
Has anyone experienced starting difficulties with the A6? My (recently purchased) 98 2.4 auto tip starts with the first turn of the key most of the time, but a few times a week (used every day for work, domestic stuff etc) it doesn't. I then have to coax it into life using varying

| 1998 Audi A6 Quatro for $9K. Good price? | 08 Apr 2005 22:40 GMT | 1 |
I recently saw an where they were selling a 1998 Audi A6 Quattro for $9500. It had only 30K miles. Is this a good buy? If I trade in my car (it's an '89 old Volvo), it should lower to $8000-$9000. I've been looking for some time for a nicer car that's under $10K and I

| Quattro not working as advertised - Anyone else experienced this? | 08 Apr 2005 22:27 GMT | 17 |
It so happened that as I got to the restaurant of my choice yesterday the car park was full and so I decided I would make full use of Quattro to park by driving up onto a slope (about 12% steep) with only the two right wheels onto a grass fringe (wet with hail from a recent storm) ...

| Interesting failure mode. | 08 Apr 2005 18:56 GMT | 8 |
I have a 200k+ mile 80q. Last few months, every now and again would not start on the first key turn, but sounded like it would "catch" on one or two cylinders, then die. Second key turn would start it. This happened every so often, then the frequency picked up to almost every

| Wheel speed sensors on 96 A4 | 06 Apr 2005 22:12 GMT | 1 |
Is it common for both wheel speed sensors to go bad if/when they(mech.) replace tie rods and control arms on both sides of the front end. Is this caused by the mech. doing something wrong? If so, what and how?
