I have a 1999 A6 1.9 TDI - recently I had a rubbing noise from what appeared to be the steering column. I had the column lubed by the local garage. However now after driving the car for 10 minutes or so each journey, it goes from being fine to making a creaking noise. I'm guessing ...

Does anybody know if the A4 1.8T quattro come with two exhaust pipes by default? I've seen that in an Official Service, but in the catalogues it come with only one. Thanks

I know this is mostly old-news now, but I felt compelled to comment anyhow. Over the last couple of years, the model redundancy in the VW/Audi lineups has gotten ridiculous. The Pheaton is trying to compete with the A8, the Passat is almost a better A4 than the A4 is -

I currently drive a 99 pasat wagon, 1.8T, 5spd MT, after 198K miles it's time to think about what I going to drive next. Jumping up to a quatro is very appealing to me, the price for a new a4q is not applealing to my wife, and the short supply does help me to beat

Having done a search through the newsgroup, I can see that fuel gauge issues are quite common, but none seems to fit exactly with what I'm experiencing. So if anyone out there has any light they can shed on this, I'd be very grateful!
