Your opinion30 Nov 2006 14:38 GMT3
Do you think you would get a better deal if you negotiated one car by
yourself or got together with five others and negotiated five cars with
the same dealer?
Damage from Regular Gas30 Nov 2006 13:47 GMT11
I wonder if it's harmful to use regular instead of premium fuel in a
turbo engine?

Anyone know what this part is called??29 Nov 2006 21:51 GMT2
On a '98 dark blue Audi Quattro it's the black rubber strip that runs
along each side, about 3/4 down.  Mine is not painted, it's just black
rubber.  The damn thing is coming off of it's mounting (partially due
to my kicking it).
3rd row seat 2000 A6 Avant?29 Nov 2006 12:46 GMT2
Has anyone added a third row to an A6 Avant that did not have one from
the factory?  Are there mount points in all A6 wagons? Is there a
source other than Audi to buy these seats?  Anyone have one they want
to sell??  Know of a donor car at a local bone yard that has one?
Car starts only when I crank with throttle pedal pressed29 Nov 2006 04:16 GMT2
I have a 2002 Audia6, It has recently showed this problem. When I crank
it, it doesn't start but starter makes that sound which tells me its
not getting enough juice or something. but when I press the Accelerator
pedal and then Crank it, it will start and run perfectly fine for

1988 Audi Quattro 200 Wagon27 Nov 2006 02:53 GMT1
I'm getting one! And am tremendously psyched and needed to tell someone
who cared. It's a manual--rare find! Only 70k miles on it. I'm giddy as
a schoolgirl! All it needs are new tires (so far as I know), it's
everything I want in a vehicle and the first thing I'm going to do is
Fluctuating tickover.26 Nov 2006 00:29 GMT1
Audi A6 1995, 1984cc, petrol, manual. - Sometimes  has: fluctuating
tickover, lumpyness and hesitation.  Does anyone know the reason(s) and
the cure(s)? Does anyone have a fuel system drawing?
Best Engine22 Nov 2006 20:17 GMT1
I am wondering what would be the most reliable engine in a Audi, I am
looking to get a replacement Audi 1999 to 2003 ( A4 ) & I don't particularly
want oil sludge problems or timing belt failures, have any engines got
timing chains? I just want something reliable,
Car stalled at stop sign, now it won't start21 Nov 2006 03:53 GMT29
Hi, I just bought a 2001 A4 1.8T Fwd Trip with 116K miles on it a few
days ago. This morning the car started up fine (the OK! display came
on) and I drove to the end of my street where I stopped at a stop sign.
At the stop, the car turned off by its-self and wouldn't restart after
Used A6 Avant opinions?21 Nov 2006 00:54 GMT2
I am considering the purchase of an Audi A6 avant 2000, with 60K and
the 2.8 v6 tiptonic.  My concern is maintenance cost.  I would
appreciate any advice/data that you may have to help me with this
purchase.  The car will be used as a daily driver in New England 400
1990 Audi 100 fuel delivery problem18 Nov 2006 22:14 GMT5
Going crazy here. My Audi 100 will not start after sitting a day or so
in damp weather. Cold weather is okay - it seems to be the moisture
that's killing me. Weird thing is, the ignition spark is fine, but fuel
is not reaching the cylinders. If I put a heat lamp under the hood for
Squek in rear suspension A6 Quattro18 Nov 2006 07:33 GMT1
My 96 A6 Quattro wagon has developed a squeak in the left rear suspension.
I'm pretty sure its coming from the top of the strut. When I spray white
grease up there or if its raining the squek disappears or gets less for a
while.
Allroad Perfomance17 Nov 2006 20:43 GMT6
Just got an Allroad today.
Having driven diesels fro 20+ years, I am surprised by the lack of
grunt at less than 2200 rpm.  After that it flys.
Is this normal for the 2.5 tdi?  It is a bit like a petrol at these low
2002 a4 air filter change -- problems17 Nov 2006 15:48 GMT2
i put in a "supposedly" OE air filter made by mahle a couple of months
ago.  i noticed at the time that the filter was slightly larger than
the one i was removing (which was original stock equipment).  i put it
in anyway, since the difference in size was less than a centimeter all
