just purchased the beast and heard a wee blow from exhaust; on looking it
appears that the front half is a different diamater pipe from rear!; also,
when replacing worn o ring had to buy one from the 80 exhaust sytem!
so..has someoneone put an 80 front(or rear) half exhaust on; can ...

The clutch has just given the ghost on my 06 Passat TDI. It was recently
serviced  and has only covered 10,000 miles. I don't tyhink this is normal
has anyone heard of this.

Hi. I'm trying to sell my A6 Avant SE Estate and I have been asked the
question why the badges on the boot are situated in the wrong place? On
other cars the badges are level with the bottom of the light lens
cover. On mine, they are level with the top! Can someone please tell me

yesterday I was driving down the road after going for appr. 25 miles
and the engine stalled all of a sudden. There was no noise or any other
sign of problems. The car just shut off, radio and heater still on.
After starting the engine again, I was able to continue.

I borrowed a friends 2003 A6 Quatttro turbo for a couple of weeks and took
several short trips in it. I got about 26-27 MPG at 75 MPH on level roads. I
just bought my own 2003 A6 Quattro turbo, with lower mileage (55k vs. 75 k)
than my friends, and I am only getting about 21-22 ...

It started with a steering leak at the stearing rack,also intermittant
hard steering even with fluid full.I replaced rack(purchased rebuilt from
dealer so i would not have any problems,it cost over $700)bled system
properly and used proper hydraulic oil,now i have no power steering ...

has anyone ever washed their own engine? if so is there anything i should be
careful of doing?

Hi All,I have an annoying problem on a number of occasions..When i put my
foot flat to the floor to overtake a slower vehicle,the engine splutters
and dies down to safe mode (1100 revs)to get me home mode,with a warning
light on the dash display.If i turn the engine off,and restart ...

Does anyone know if it's normal for the airbag light to come on only
when there's a passenger in the rear?  I have front and rear side
curtain airbags and thought maybe something was being disabled due to
an occupancy sensor.

So I have an OBD II to OBD I converter cable.  Does anyone know what
code reader is the best for me to purchase?  Something under $100.

I was driving my car home today and it was running really well then all
the sudden i got an anoying beep to look up and see the little oil can
light come on then my car just totally shut off. is this a safety for
low oil or oil pressure i cant seem to get it to restart for anything.

In 20 years I never replaced the Original Oxygen Sensor and the car
recently flunked the California Emission test by a small margin.
I am debating whether I should get the higher priced OEM sensor or one
of the cheaper Universal Sensors,

I have just upgraded from a Concert Radio,to a Concert 2 CD player on my
A6,does anyone know what plugs into the brown coloured terminal on the
