Opinions on 97 GTP?27 Mar 2004 06:47 GMT1
I'm taking a 2 hour drive to look at a 97 Grand Prix GTP tommorow, and
I need some opinions quick on positives/negatives on this year..
I used to own a 91 GTP, and although it was a blast to drive, it was
riddled with problems.   Electrical....tranny, and eventually
Automotive trivia challenge26 Mar 2004 02:52 GMT5
A question was raised that was a bit uncommon and I figured I would
run it by everyone here to see if you could all reach deep into the
recesses of your memories and provide some info on it.  I figure that
with the collective knowledge pool available here we can come up with ...
High mileage cars26 Mar 2004 01:58 GMT2
I'm starting a business what will require me to drive a lot of miles. I was
wondering what is the best cars for racking up the miles low fuel
consumption and upkeep costs. I'm thinking civics or corrolas already.
how long do they last?25 Mar 2004 16:11 GMT2
It seems modern automotive engines last much longer than they did in the
past.  I suppose this is due to better engineering, manufacturing and
metalurgical processes.
Just how long can one reasonably expect a modern engine to last, assuming it
what happens?25 Mar 2004 15:53 GMT2
Just bought a Cavalier for my kid.  Stupid me didn't bother to look in the
coolant tank until after perchase; it's got green antifreeze in it.
I plan on having the system flushed and filled with Dexcool this weekend.
Am I going to have problems with this thing?
upgrading diesel24 Mar 2004 19:33 GMT1
I drive Fiat Tipo 1.7 Diesel and I'd like to upgrade the engine with a
turbine (maybe the one from 1.9 TD suits?)
So, I'd be gratefull for any ideas, comments, links etc.
Oh, yes one more thing: at the same time I'd like to upgrade the engine and
Fix old Car or buy new car24 Mar 2004 16:48 GMT6
I have a 1994 Camaro with 150,000 miles
The camaro has had no problems in its 10 year life.  I'm debating the
merits of fixing the camaro.  It need brakes (ABS is inoperative),
shocks, probably struts, the heater is gone, this winter there has
Gas prices...24 Mar 2004 04:43 GMT21
Some anaylists predict gaslone prices to exceed $2.00 a gallon by this
summer for the entire US.  Those places that already have exceeded the
$2.00 barrier could as high as $3.00 a gallon.
The only good I see of this is to get all the damned SUV's off the
gas filter bowls24 Mar 2004 01:59 GMT1
Old gas engines used to have glass filter bowls just prior to the
carburetors for collecting trash and water.  .  I'd like to find one of the
bigger ones of those assemblies.
Who made the things?  Are they available in parts stores anymore, or are
Can I use a Chevy automatic transmission?23 Mar 2004 09:22 GMT4
This is an 85 Olds Custom Cruiser STW.  It's got the 307 Olds engine,
not a Chevy engine.  I need to replace the trans. with a used one.
I am still trying to ID the trans.  It says METRIC on the pan and is
the three speed model WITH Overdrive, and has the 4 pin electric cable
DIY fuel injector cleaning22 Mar 2004 16:17 GMT2
I want to clean my fuel injectors as preventive maintenance. There's
no sign of anything wrong but I assume the injectors won't suffer from
being cleaned. Adding an expensive snake oil treatment to the gas tank
sounds too uncertain to me.
Hey, by the way what are gas prices running in your neck of the woods?22 Mar 2004 06:49 GMT6
I live just outside of Philadelphia in Montgomery County and the gas price for
regular runs around $2.50 - $2.65 range.  Of course there are a lot of gas
stations and they all have a different price!
