I accidentally put the gear into reverse from neutral. I had my foot on
the brakes but not on the clutch. The engine stalled and shutoff. The
car was stationary. The transmission is manual and it is an '87 Honda
Accord.
Defective Ford Door Latches05 May 2004 21:28 GMT1
It looks like Ford may have made a serious error in regards to the safety of
the door latches in a number of the vehicles they produce. It also appears
that Ford may have known of this and not done anything about the defect.
This has just recently come to public attention and the ...

I think Audi,BMW and MB are the official three german luxury
automakers and no one can beat them and their technology. The Audi
TT,BMW Z4 and the Mercedes SLK roadster are just sensational and they
compete neck to neck in the sportscars category.

Ok, I have found a buyer who is willing to purchase my car, subject to car
inspection by a mechanic. She, the buyer, wishes to have the car inspected
by the same dealer (Volkswagen) where I purchased the car. Obviously I have
nothing to hide and am willing to do it. Obviously the ...

Buying a used Honda -- a bit of a dilema ... please help me out ...05 May 2004 03:34 GMT6
After much research of what to ask and what to look for I'm in the market
for a used Honda. My budget is no more than $5000 CND. I know how risky it
can be buying private, especially if one doesn't know much about this sort
of thing etc ... Sure, I'd inspect the car (even with the ...
Humvee rolls over and kills four American soldiers in Baghdad04 May 2004 20:12 GMT4
Maybe when they are adding armour to these vehicles, they can also make
the occupant areas more robust to reduce deaths in these sorts of
accidents.
Dealer wont fix piston slap04 May 2004 14:14 GMT3
I took my car in for a warranty check for the notorious  piston slap on my
3.1 Century. They told me that the piston slap was "normal" and let them
know if it gets louder and to bring it in.  When's that? When the warranty
expires out? So they can make more money on it?  There is a ...

Oregonian, purchase car from Calif., sales tax?04 May 2004 03:44 GMT6
If I live in Oregon and purchase a car through private sale from
California, do I have to pay Calif. sales tax?  I'd be shipping the car to
oregon, never driving it in Calif.  Paying Calif. sales tax whould hurt, if
not break the deal. Oregon has no sales tax.  If I would have to ...

Does anyone have any experience with using the paintless dent removal
services. I have a small ding on the door of my new lexus (I did not
do it - someone probably hit the side of car with a shopping cart) - I
spoke to a lexus dealer (I'm in the LA area) and they said it is $99
Rust concerns on car from Honolulu03 May 2004 20:10 GMT6
Should I be concerned about buying a 2000 Toyota Camary Solara that spent
its first 3 years in Honolulu?  I read an old post discussing rust on the
rear quarter panels of Camarys in humid or salty climates.  If an
inspection by a Toyota service technician comes up clean, should ...

ATF color?02 May 2004 13:41 GMT4
I know the fluid (for most cars) is red. I checked mine and it is an orange
color, as if between red and brown. It doesn't smell burnt. I scheduled an
appointment in a couple weeks to get it flushed. Am I overdue? Should I park
it for now and drive the other car? I don't want to ...
