Odor of gasoline? ? ?06 Feb 2005 18:31 GMT4
My 2001 Honda with 40,000 miles has developed a smell of gasoline. Not
strong to seem dangerous, but strong enough to be bothersome.
This developed during a prolonged cold spell, in case that might have
something to do with it.
Bad gas mileage getting worse!06 Feb 2005 17:38 GMT4
2004 Nissan Quest, advertised at 19city/26hwy.  Now I know this is under
ideal conditions, but I think actual mileage should at least be close to
this.  I was getting ~16mpg a month ago when I complained to the dealer, and
he said it's because of the cold weather.. and relatively, ...
The DMV is so insidious.  They are allowed to tax used property sales.06 Feb 2005 15:18 GMT671
Because of the DMV is such an evil entity, it tries to charge you
sales tax on used cars.  This is completely insane.  No used items
should be charged tax.  I know even used guns bought at gun shops do
not carry any sales tax.  The DMV is just pure evil incarnate.
If Mercedes 560SEC are so rare, why are so many for sale?06 Feb 2005 12:43 GMT3
I like the looks and have heard lots of good things about the Mercedes
560SEC.  But with such a limited production run, if they are truly
"keepers," why is the used car market flooded with them?
There are at least 5 on eBay right now.
Intake Manifold leak05 Feb 2005 15:23 GMT1
Hi everyone.  Help is appreciated.  I have a 2003 Chevy Impala with about
64k miles.  I was told that I have an intake manifold leak that, if left
untreated, could cause antifreeze to mix with oil that could get into the
engine and destroy the engine.  Estimated cost: $400.
Code P1133 on 2000 Saturn SL05 Feb 2005 02:29 GMT3
Hi, this is also posted to rec.autos.makers.saturn
I have a 2000 Saturn SL with a high idle problem and a constantly lit
'check engine light'. It only does the high idle intermitantly, when the
engine is warmed up. Sitting at a stop light, while in neutral, the RPM
Best Bang for Buck Buy?04 Feb 2005 23:31 GMT17
Suppose a person's criteria for selecting a car to buy were only these:
1. Must be reliable, requiring minimal repair so long as regular required
maintenance is performed
2. Must be presentable (but need not impress)

gas guzzling and no leaks02 Feb 2005 10:54 GMT1
My 1991 Cutlass goes through gas like crazy lately with no smell of gas
or apparent leaks. I  recently replaced  the exhaust manifold and the
spring bolts do not form a perfect seal. Could this be tricking the
computer into running a super rich mixture. I have noticed this problem

Does anyone out there know how Kelly, NADA, etc. come up with their
used car prices?  Do they use some formula, statistics, actual pricing
data, some combination?
Thanks,
