My anti-tailgater attachment08 May 2005 23:29 GMT5
After years of work, I have developed a device that actually stops
tailgaters.  Using the pump from a power washer, I rigged the pump to
my engine and connected the hose and nozzle to the rear bumper of my
car.  In my trunk I have a ten gallon tank recovered from a well water
Two Technical Questions06 May 2005 14:58 GMT4
I know they make non-interference engines should a timing belt fail.  But,
what is the reasoning for why anyone would design anything other than a
non-interference engine.  There must be some advantage???
What makes it desirable to have a timing belt vs. a timing chain?  I would

My 18 year old just got a DWI in NJ. Eventually we will need to get auto
insurance. Do regular insurers cover you or do you have to go with those
high risk state plans? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Does rock chip repair prevent windshield crack propagation?04 May 2005 17:45 GMT2
Got a nasty rock chip in my windshield.  Three impact divots connected
by a crack about 1.5" long.  Short star pattern at each impact.
It's well out of the normal field of view, but I'm very concerned about
the crack propagating.

I am not sure what it is called, that heavy-duty plastic thing that fits
under the front bumper, and looks like a second lower  bumper. Perhaps it is
is some kind of protective shield against dust and pebbles.
Anyway, after a collision, one end of this plastic bumper came lose ...

Battery Light Blinks & No Get Up & Go01 May 2005 12:13 GMT1
I have a 2000 Mazda Protege that is well maintained. Today the battery
light began to come on and off...and there seemed to be no power or
"get up and go" behind the car. I cannot obviously take it to the
dealership tomorrow since it will be Sunday. I am wondering if it is

I just picked up a Linksys Power2Go power inverter. All I really want
to do is recharge my digital camera battery using the AC adapter that
