| hot serpentine belt | 19 Aug 2006 17:15 GMT | 5 |
My father in law has an old geo metro. Recently his serpentine belt broke. He replaced it and the new one gets very, very hot. My guess is on of the loads are dragging. He said both the driven items (alternator and probably a ps pump) turn freely. Any suggestions?

The driver's window on my Suzuki Vitara is very slow in mid-range going up. Sometimes it even stops and must be manually assisted. Going down is no problem. In order to inspect the tracks and possibly lubricate them and any worm gear involved, I tried to remove the door panel. ...
