I've had this problem with most of the cars I've owned. When you read instructions for changing antifreeze they almost always say something to the effect that, "It's simple. Anyone can do it." Then proceed to give some simpleminded drain and refill instructions.

This is not exactly the average rescue plan out there, but perhaps it is the one with the most common sense. Why bother rescuing something that deserves dying, and rather grab the opportunity to make people go out there an enjoy the smartest vehicle ever created?
