1990 535 Overheating13 Mar 2004 22:24 GMT7
Sitting in the drive through the other day I was surprised by the temp gauge
leaning past the 3/4 mark. I shut it off and let it cool, checked coolant
level, it was fine. I made it to the dealer with the heater on and purchased
a new thermostat. I figured it had to be the thermostat ...

Thinking  New BMW 325xi. looking for success stories13 Mar 2004 21:23 GMT1
I have heard that A bmw will last in the 15 years plus range. This without
having major engine work and no rust on the body. Is this true? has anyone
had similar experiances with BMW's?
'94 E34 540 Transmission problem13 Mar 2004 17:56 GMT1
I'm looking at a '94 540i with some 120k miles (190k km) on the meter.
Everything checks out fine, except there is a problem with the ZF 5HP30
transmission.  When putting it in gear and start it feels as if the brakes
are
Tire pressure for 330i13 Mar 2004 16:46 GMT2
I'm a new owner of an '03 330i with the standard Conti 205 50 x 17"
tires. The owners manual doesn't even list this size for the 330i, but
the sticker on the drivers door opening does. The recommended pressure
is 33 front and 38 rear for a car with 4 people. Since my car will be
OBC warning for right dip beam - tail light - license plate13 Mar 2004 09:38 GMT1
Recently I have been plagues by OBC warning for broken right dip beam,
right tail light and right license plate light (BMW -89 E34 535i).
The strange thing is that all these three always appear at the same time.
When you're driving and a warning for the right dip beam appears,
Sunroof woes13 Mar 2004 07:09 GMT2
On my 535i 1987/8, E28 the sunroof has two modes.  It slides or it tilts.
When you finish sliding, you have to release the button before pressing it
again to make it tilt.  And vice versa.
Well, it's not working like that any more.  Now it goes right over from
'96 328 convertible13 Mar 2004 03:06 GMT2
I just looked at a 1996 328iC which was completely loaded but what stroke me
was that the rear headrests and rollover package were missing.  I thought
all e36 convertibles has headrests in the rear and that the 328 always came
with the rollover package.  Can somebody let me know if ...
60k TCO for 540  3 year lease?13 Mar 2004 01:08 GMT3
I am in the process of preparing a budget and financial statement for a
client of mine teetering on the verge of bankruptcy.  In addition to Rolex
watches, this individual has a taste for fine European automobiles.  More
specifically, he started a 3 year lease last summer on a 2003 ...
BMW Coolant12 Mar 2004 23:07 GMT3
I've heard on several websites (notably www.bmwe34.net) that its best to
only use special BMW coolant in engines.   Is this just the usual 'must use
proprietary products' mumbo-jumbo, or is there actually a grain of
engineering reasoning behind this?
Wireless antennas and Bluetooth12 Mar 2004 00:40 GMT1
My 2004 330CiC is prewired for a telephone (Option 640).
Does anyone know if it has the Bluetooth antenna (driver's side trunk)
and GSM antenna (rear bumper) already installed?
E34 interior wiring harness needed11 Mar 2004 23:58 GMT3
Anyone have available or know where I can find an interior wiring harness
for an E34, preferably in the DC area? I had an unfortunate mishap, spilled
liquid into the window switches in the console. It basically shorted out the
unit, and resulted in the driver's switch welding itself ...
E36 328i Heater Controls - What do the buttons do?11 Mar 2004 23:52 GMT7
I recently purchased a 328i in the UK - which arrived without a user manual.
I previously ran a 320i which was infinitely more basic and it's heater
control consisted of an Off,1,2,3,4 dial and a Hot/Cold dial - simple!
In the 328, I have more options! Theres a link here with a ...
Leather cleaner/conditioner?11 Mar 2004 23:33 GMT3
I just bought a 1989 320i Cabrio that has blue leather seats. The
leather has no holes, nor deep cracks, but has a bit of scuff wear on
the bolsters, as well as a brittle feel. The place I bought it from
had gone nuts with the Armor-All or similar product. All that did was
Heater/airconditioning won't quit!11 Mar 2004 21:40 GMT2
Had a slightly less fun experience with my beloved bimmer this morning...
While driving to work, I had the airco on (20degrees, as usual) and the car
started heating up (as usual) but would not stop, which was not so usual.
After fiddling about with the hot/cold wheel on the ...
