New Owner: 1993 740i10 Mar 2004 05:33 GMT10
Please have a round of cold ones on me while I write up a short intro:
Today we purchased our first BWM--a 1993 740i.  The car is beautiful inside
and out and rides like a dream.  The dealer is detailing her for us and we
will pick her up in a few days.  We originally went to the ...
power rear sunshade  onna e 4610 Mar 2004 05:08 GMT3
I noticed this on a e46 board someplace, and wonder if anyone has tried
this,  and if in general the power rear sunshade is worth it, i mean will it
have any cooling effect  ??  is  it more trouble then it's worth  main
wise??
BMW 320d10 Mar 2004 04:45 GMT8
I'm considering buying a new BMW 320d.
I heard that the 320d engine has low power in the lower revs, and
that you have to push it past 3000 rpm to have some real push.
Is this true? Because from the technical specifications I can see that
E30 Jack09 Mar 2004 22:27 GMT2
I was stuck at the track this weekend without a floor jack (long story).
Anyhow, to change wheels, I had to use the jack that comes with the E30.
To my suprise, the thing works exeptionally well. It is fast, smooth
and fits the jack points perfectly. Kudos to BMW for even ...
My '86 e28 suddenly won't start!09 Mar 2004 22:05 GMT5
I replaced the radiator and put green coolant and then was told there
was supposed to be red coolant in there.  It had been running fine up
until yesterday.  It turns over but will not start.  I tried to pop
the clutch and no such luck...  any suggestions on some home
BMW Satellite Navigation09 Mar 2004 20:51 GMT2
I was wondering if anyone can help me.
I am thinking about getting the DVD satellite navigation added to my 2004
3-series (it already has the widescreen monitor) and I have a few questions.
My current onboard monitor has a menu interface that looks dated and quite

BMW's and LPG09 Mar 2004 19:39 GMT17
Anyone had any experience with LPG conversion for their BMW ?.
The prospect of half price fuel is compelling, but I'm interested in the
downsides
mainly !.  They are now saying no power loss, and about equal MPG.
E39 - Squeal from Cold09 Mar 2004 12:56 GMT11
Any thoughts please
2001 525 22K miles - high pitched squeal from cold.  fine when warm - I
don't think it is fanbelt.  Sounds like a dry bearing but not sure.
Thanks
E34 Wheels09 Mar 2004 12:28 GMT1
Starting to look around for a larger set of wheels for my 1991 535i. I like
the M Parallels but I'm reluctant to go to 18" wheels for a daily driver,
would probably be more comfortable with 17s. I also like the 15-spoke radial
(style 32) wheels which are available in 17. What's the ...
Cockworks on dashboard09 Mar 2004 12:12 GMT5
I've just bought a 1991 BMW 318i e36 and fount that my clockworks in the
dashboard go bezerk as soon as I hit the brakes. They all (temperature,
gass, velocity and revolutions counter) periodically (2 sec) hit Max and
then Min very spastically, for the time I press the brake pedal. ...
Unstable idle under specific conditions09 Mar 2004 01:23 GMT2
I have a 97 540i.  When the car runs on a slight down grade with the engine
holding back slightly at low rpm, it will fail to maintain a stable idle
when I push in the clutch to come to a stop.  It's done it since I bought it
with about 60k miles on it, and it now has about 186000 ...

Bmw X509 Mar 2004 00:05 GMT1
Would value any feedback on  a subject relating to an x5 3.3 d 2003 ,I heard
that its possible and also safe to replace  a  "chip" from I presume the
engine management system which results in a bhp gain of around 70 without
compromising fuel efficiency.
