Lots of talk in this group about replacing the *plastic* water pumps on
E36's.  Supposedly my 97 328 has a metal impeller, and currently at 109K
miles it seems to be just fine.
How many people go ahead and replace even the metal ones as preventative

I saw a metal or aluminum shift boot ring on an E46 in Europe and would love to
find one for my 2001 330i. This is like a frame around the leather boot. I
wonder if anyone knows where I can get a good one.
