difficult to put in gear when cold17 Mar 2004 13:34 GMT3
I find that on my BMW 318 (1999 ) that when it's cold I have difficulty
putting it into first or second gear.  After about 10 mins of driving the
gears are easy to engage.  I'm not sure if it could be the gear box oil or
something with the linkage.

M88 engine - leaded or unleaded??17 Mar 2004 02:37 GMT2
I was reading a US-published book on E28s recently and in the chapter about
the M5 it said "The M5's motor was designed with soft valve seats, so
continued use of unleaded fuel would require new hard seats to avoid valve
recession".

Headliner removal16 Mar 2004 23:13 GMT1
I need to service the sunrrof on my E28, 1987/8 535i.  There is a small
plastic access plate but not enough of the mechanism shows to work on it.
How do I safely remove and reinstall the headliner to do the job?  I don't
see any hardware holding it, so maybe it's tucked under ...

traveling down my short steep driveway (30 yards).  Groaning noise not
made on flat straight roadways.  ABS dummy light comes on in dash.

What is normal service interval for a E39?16 Mar 2004 21:26 GMT5
I got my 523 99-model in July 2002. It then had 35 000 km on the counter.
The system indicating when I should have an oil change and/or service has
still not asked me to do anything - there are still two green lamps lighting
up when I start the car. Last June (at 44 000 km) I ...
PDC possible problem16 Mar 2004 20:07 GMT8
I've just bought a 2001 car with both forward and read PDC.
Reading the blurb in the manual, it suggests that if there is a
problem with the system then a warning light will appear (can't
remember exact details).  Anyhow, I haven't received any such warning
Z3 Steering problem16 Mar 2004 19:23 GMT10
I got my first Z3 1.9i (2001 - 24000 miles) couple of days ago and
have a question. It seems to me the steering wheel likes to follow the

There was a string of posts on service info availability earlier this
year.  It had to do with TIS info, etc.   One of the posters (KMS -
Brett Anderson ) said that:
