My 1994 540 burst a hose yesterday and seriously overheated in the process.

I am going to buy a used 2000 BMW 323i sedan and had a few questions:
- At what miles does the brakes need to be replaced?
- Does extended warranty means that the car has to be repaired only at
that dealer from whom the car was bought originally?

Was it simple or is it best to pay BMW ( local dealer)?

With the OBC, can anyone explaing to me how the CODE system works? As
I understand it it imobbilizes your car, but when and how? How do I
set a new code, and when do I have to put in a code?
