Brake-dust Shields?13 Apr 2004 16:16 GMT7
I've seen these offered for about $35/pr.  What is the drawback of these, &
why haven't I seen them mentioned in the multitude of brakedust posts?
I can guess at brake cooling being a possible issue, & it not being COOL to
hide the rotor & caliper.  Otherwise, these seem to be a ...

I have two E36's, a '92 320i and a '96 328i.
Can I swap the windscreens over? ie are they both the same size?
Many thanks,

E36 retrofit?13 Apr 2004 11:06 GMT1
I have a 1996 318i Touring with all the amenities (automatic climate
control, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, exterior temp gauge, trip
computer, etc), and I have grown quite fond of it.
We are rearranging our car collection now and I have just bought a 1995
Seating comfort and high position X3 vs X513 Apr 2004 02:20 GMT1
Hello. This question is to anybody who has had the opportunity of
being seated in a X5 and a X3. The X5 front seats comfort is from my
point of view excellent and it provides great comfort, also even tough
the X5 is not that tall the seats provide you a very high seating
84 318i violently vibrating clutch pedal!12 Apr 2004 23:56 GMT4
Greetings all.
Well, so far I've owned 7 VWs and 2 Audis. I LOVE German machinery. I
think its time for a BMW 3 series.
Anyway, I looked at an 84 318i coupe which has a perfect rust free

Every heard about low viscosity brake fluid??12 Apr 2004 17:29 GMT2
Thinking about bleeding the brakes of my 99 540i, my E39 Bentley manual
calls DOT 4 "low viscosity" brake fluid for E39s after 9/1998, with the
reason being they are equipped with DSC without precharge pump.
I searched the web but couldn't confirmed this, does anybody know if ...
S-03 Pole Position vs. new Pilot Sport PS212 Apr 2004 06:20 GMT2
I have a 1997 US BMW M3 coupe which will need four new tires soon.
I've only used the Bridgestone S-02 or S-03 tires on it in the past.
From the recent Tire Rack review, it looks like the Michelin Pilot
Sport PS2 would be a better choice than another set of S-03s.
Can an intermittent grounding problem kill a battery12 Apr 2004 01:36 GMT17
I have an '88 325i (e30) that has been diagnosed to have a electrical
problem by an experienced BMW mechanic.  The the principal symptoms
have been a rising temperature gauge that will go higher
proportionately with the number of things that are using electricity.
M5 key/lock adjustments12 Apr 2004 00:22 GMT2
Anyone know how to adjust the key functions and the auto lock function
(doors lock at 2.5 mph) on a 2002 M5? How about running lights? I  want to
disable them.
Parts Prices Skyrocketing????11 Apr 2004 21:31 GMT8
Is it just my imagination, but are the price of BMW parts at US
dealers  increasing faster than an F1 car?  I called my local dealer,
Tischer BMW in Maryland, and they quoted me $175 each for oxygen
sensors for my '96 318i.  I found the same sensors at Baverian Motor
chips11 Apr 2004 17:28 GMT5
Anyone have a performance chip or have experience with them in their cars?
Wheel Spacers11 Apr 2004 01:35 GMT2
Got a set of alloys with 35mm offset, if i was to buy a set of 15mm wheel
spacers would this then in theory reduce the wheels offset to 20mm. Is this
the main purpose behind wheel spacers?
Cheers
Water Pump Installation - Lubricant?11 Apr 2004 00:25 GMT2
Planning to soon install a new waterpump on my 97 328 as preventative
maintenence.  Bentley manual says to lubricate the O-ring gasket during
installation - my question is what lubricant should be used?
Thought it a bad idea to get any oil or grease in the cooling system,
