dealer refuses to do Inspection 1 on 2002 BMW 330i, need help!11 Sep 2004 15:48 GMT10
My dealer refuses to do Inspection 1 on our 2002 BMW 330i with 26k
miles unless we pay 480$ for the service. He sayes the service
indicator light does not call for it, so BMW will not pay him for
doing the service. I think I may have fouled things up when I reset

The TIS shows two special tools to remove this. Anyone done it without
them?

Miles vs KMs in Odometer11 Sep 2004 05:25 GMT1
'91 M5. I have changed everything to kms on OBC, but can't get Kms on
odometer.  Language on dash is English UK (changed from English US,
didn't help)  I'm sure there's an easy way, but I have no Owner's Manual
and it's a long weekend.
E28 interior window "welting" question11 Sep 2004 03:36 GMT3
Not sure if this is the proper terminology for what I'm talking about here but
long ago this similar style body/door frame cushioning or decorative material
was referred to as welting by Jaguar back in the '60's...

seek to buy used BMW windows shades and other interior parts10 Sep 2004 19:13 GMT5
I have tried those used auto parts locators listed in Google and Yahoo.
I have never able to find anything such as windows handle, shade, visors or
sun screen or windows shades.
I found many many of these auto parts locators and brokers listed in Yahoo
Q: 1998 328i Canadian spec Vs US...10 Sep 2004 16:35 GMT1
I am considering a 1998 328i sedan that was first registered in
British Columbia, Canada. Are there any differences between the
Canadian-spec cars versus the US spec cars of this vintage?
Thanks in advance for your inputs.
E36 320i coupe. Rear clock noise and problems removing the shock10 Sep 2004 12:47 GMT5
Since last week, I hear a heavy clonk at the left rear of the car. It sounds
when driving over bumps. I guess I'd need to replace the rear shock mount,
or may be the whole shock.
Does anyone know which type of shocks uses a 320i coupe (year 1992 E36),
New E39 530d 1999 owner - viewing hidden functions on the OBC10 Sep 2004 12:06 GMT1
Just got the car this week and slowing learning all the functions. I
have found a few webpages which describe how to get at the hidden
functions for the OBC using the reset button and that worked fine. Now
is there anyway to get at these functions through the BC button on the

I used to have an '87 525e Lux, sold it a friend years ago. Well he's
off to the US of A for 6 months and rather than leave it lying he sold
it back to me. Still in fairly good nick, just needs a good does of

New 545 or Used M5?10 Sep 2004 02:43 GMT39
My '97 528 has been a great car.  But it's up to 130K miles and I'm starting
to think about a replacement.  Drove a new 545 last week.  It's very nice
and some of the options like Adaptive Cruise Control and the Heads-up
Display are attractive.

525i transmission question09 Sep 2004 17:54 GMT2
1991 525i - 187k mi.
I suspect that I am going to be getting a large bill when I take her
in for repair but I wanted to get some opinions based on symptoms
first.
