Sometimes i get a strange unpleasant smell from my aircon, normally when
turned off after use.
Any suggestions appreciated

I took my 98 740 in for a California smog check yesterday and it
failed.  It is running excessively lean, according to the smog check
shop.  They looked into it and said they found several factory recalls
which they thought would fix the problem, but when they called the

My 1997 540i at about 150k miles seems to be acting up lately.  Engine seems
to run smoothly but the check engine light seems to come on for a day or two
then off for a day or two and back on again.  I am having this checked
Thursday.  Then the check front brake linings indicator ...

Anyone rewired the parking lights to shut off when you turn off the car?
On my '86 E30 the headlights only work when the ignition is on, turning
the key to "acc" shuts off the headlights but leaves the parking lights
on, and turning the key to "off" turns off all lights. Of ...

Does anyone know if there should be a gap between the throttle butterfly and
the body when closed? The E34 website states that there should be a 2 thou
gap but that leaves me with an idle of 1k revs. The idle control valve is
working ok.

One more problem - one of the rear doors is permanently locked shut - the
lock / unlock pin won't even budge when pulled with the fingers - does ths
sound familiar to anyone?

Hi, I have the M3 Evo. 3.2cc and want to know is it a V6 or straight 6 or
inline. it is a P reg,96.
I have 17" alloys on standard ones I think n want to know what the tyre
pressure should be the handbook I have does not cover the M3.

I am having problems with the clutch not returning to the proper location
and it appears the firewall is flexing when the clutch is pressed in.
Any ideas?

Okay....can anybody tell me what actually is transpiring when you push
the "sport" button on the dashboard?
I notice a rush of power and of course the steering wheel loses what
little play it had to begin with.

                     I have an E36 coupe(1998) and i notice that the rear
tyres are wearing badly on the inside edges,my local dealer tells me this is
the trailing arm bushes and that after replacing these the car will need a
full KDS check.I would appreciate your thoughts/comments ...

the  power lock doesnt work  on one rear  door.
all other doors ok.
i can raise and lower it manually.
if its the actuator, is it hard to replace ?? any tips ?

My M3 has a noisy Vanos, and I am told that I can lose power with it like
that and BMW charge loads of ?'s to sort it out. Does anyone know of anyone
that can sort it out for a  reasonable price in the UK? and how much power
can you lose, as it seems to be running fine.

I've just had my mirrors stolen and until I move to a more respectable
area I would like to fit the standard E36 mirrors. Is this possible at
all and are the electrical fittings the same?
(The car is a euro M3, 1997 if that matters)
