M3 probs again12 Nov 2004 12:51 GMT6
BMW is recalling all E46 M3s built before March 2003, essentially for an
engine rebuild where they are replacing the con-rod bearing shells, which
may fail.
The official reason is that they have failed BMW's quality assurance test -
Buzzing12 Nov 2004 10:33 GMT4
I brought my 2001 320Ci to my dealership for them to put in a hands-free kit
into it for my cell phone. They placed the microphone in front of the
odometer. Since then I have this buzzing sound when the fuel economy display
is moving. Has anyone got any similar problems with his ...
E36 Wheels and Suspension questions11 Nov 2004 17:35 GMT4
I have a '96 328i, all stock, with about 96,000 miles.  I bought the car
in 2002 with 54,000 miles on it.  I live in the New York city area.
Some questions on a couple of topics:
1- Would there be any suspension components/ bushings due for replacement
E39 - 530 or 540?11 Nov 2004 17:07 GMT28
Looking at both of these models as a replacement for the 523 - the 540
appeals hugely but fuel consumption is higher, insurance is higher and
IIRC it has recirculating ball instead of rack and pinion steering.
I have decided to go for an auto this time.

I sold the car and don't need this any more.  It's a little dirty on
the page edges but in good shape.  $20 shipped to mainland 48 states.

Oil service11 Nov 2004 13:28 GMT8
Just picked up a used 2002 325ci that is still
covered by the Full Maintenance. Must the
service indicator pass the mileage reading to
qualify for an oil change? They recommend
E46 Ci - Rear Tray & Folding Seats Noises11 Nov 2004 09:21 GMT3
I need some advice please:
Some months ago, I went over a large bump on the highway at about 80
mph (legally I should add). This caused something to be snap/break/be
displayed somewhere around the rear shelf in my coupe.
Odometer10 Nov 2004 19:05 GMT17
I'm thinking of buying a used BMW; can I trust the odometer reading?
2004 BMW525i- triangle with snowflake above temp- ???10 Nov 2004 17:34 GMT4
Hi, I have a 2004 525i that I just bought last week.
I have noticed that when I start the car, I get a small triangle with
a snowflake that appears above the temperature. Also a chime. I havent
seen this before. The temps are in the 30s here in the night, is it a
BMW crooks10 Nov 2004 16:43 GMT95
has anyone else noticed  how many BMW drivers  are "alleged crooks" ?
Whenever you see Watchdog or similar the bast**ds always drive beemers - Is
this because we notice BMW drivers as they are so "exclusive" and we are all
jealous - what about Mercs, Rollers, Audis, Bentleys  etc. ...
Tell me about 1983 533i issues10 Nov 2004 15:13 GMT6
I am contemplating buying my first BMW. I have owned numerous VW, Volvo, Saab
and Peugeots, and my Mother drives an 83 528e, so I think I have a reasonable
expectation of what I am in for. What are particular trouble spots to look out
for? The car in question is allegedly ...
Question on Private Party purchase09 Nov 2004 21:51 GMT1
Looking at a 3series from a private party.  Certified pre-owned, purchased
used from dealer with BMW financing.
Has anyone assumed one of these loans?  I have had three leases with BMW
financial, so have a history with them, and know that leases are assumable,
E39 535 missfire09 Nov 2004 21:13 GMT9
My motor was serviced just before I bought it a few weeks ago but I am
noticing it misfires when idling. Otherwise it performs OK and I am
happy with it but before I have the electrics stripped out I thought I
better check here to see if it is a common problem. It is a 1998 V8
Saw my first E90 today09 Nov 2004 19:44 GMT13
today I went for a walk in the neighbourhood in Munich, and suddenly I
stood in front of an almost uncamouflaged, brand new BMW E90 (new
3'series). It was a 4 door sedan, painted in silver, with some black tapes
which covered the BMW logos and tried to hide the identity of the ...
