wheel bearings28 Feb 2005 20:18 GMT6
After reading responses to a previous post, the concensus seems to be that
my hummmming sound may be coming from a wheel bearing going south. I jacked
up one corner of the car at a time and spun the wheels by hand and could not
percieve any problem. Is there any way to really check ...

E46 330i key replacement wait time?28 Feb 2005 17:48 GMT10
How long does it take to get a replacement key for an E46 330i ordered
from a dealer?
I'm at 2 months and waiting. That seems ridiculous, but is it normal for
BMW?

Diesel Cabin heater make / model / specs ?27 Feb 2005 23:06 GMT2
Can anyone confirm the above as fitted to the UK diesels to pre-heat the
coolant and turn the cabin blower on to defrost and pre-heat the passenger

I think it's a Webasto, also fitted to coaches and boats but beyond that.......
Check engine light, 2003 53027 Feb 2005 21:00 GMT2
Just got a check engine light.  Came on about 20 miles after I installed the
auxiliary radio input (which required I disconnect the battery).  I know
that disconnecting the battery dumps some memory items (OBC was wiped clean,
trip miles reset, but the radio retained the stored ...
"American" TV media cover up CIA_Israeli torture27 Feb 2005 17:48 GMT8
The "liberal" media continue to expose themselves to foreigners
stationed in America as the Nazi like propagandists which they are.
While the rest of the worlds people are learning about the crimes
committed by the CIA in Iraq (as the rest of the world continue to
Tire siping effect on handling27 Feb 2005 15:29 GMT12
Has anyone tried siping of their summer tires? (This is where very
narrow cuts are made in a tire tread to aid in wet and snow traction.
Big positive impact on stopping distances, too.Supposedly improves tire
wear, too, due to facilitating tread cooling.)
Wiper adjustment27 Feb 2005 11:13 GMT6
Is there an adjustment to stop the wiper arm just touching the
bonnet/hood?
I seem to recall it happening on my 530i and the specialist technician I
used back then, I think, simply adjusted something. Of course I could be
New Top27 Feb 2005 08:42 GMT1
The dealer put a new convertible top on the Z3 that we just bought, and
we noticed today that there is a small gap, about an eighth of an inch
wide and half an inch long, where the rubber gasket from the top itself
meets the end of the rubber that runs along the windshield pillar ...
Radio removal26 Feb 2005 20:46 GMT6
I have a '94 E34 (530i) and I'm having a bit of a problem with the AM
reception.  The problem seems to be tied to a loose connection on the
radio.  I would like to pull the thing so I can reseat the connectors
but I can't tell what kind of tool I need.  I see that there are two

Key Initialization Help26 Feb 2005 19:07 GMT3
I recently ran down my battery in my 2001 740i, and since then my key does
not activate the functions (memory settings, etc.). When I got a new key
from the dealer (when I bought the car they couldn't find it), and the
salesman went through a procedure to initialize the key by ...

How is does maintenance and operating cost compare to a conventional

Hesitation26 Feb 2005 06:23 GMT8
I have a 2000 - 323i with about 63,000 clicks

I get a slight hesitation then service engine light comes on and runs very
rough. When I stop and restart the car problem is gone, till the next time a
