Speedometer problem23 Feb 2005 07:11 GMT1
My E34 520 has started getting problems with the speedo.
When I take my foot off the throttle (at most speeds) the speedo returns
to 0, only changing again when I accelerate.  Any one have any
experience of this?
Horsepower23 Feb 2005 03:22 GMT9
If I spend $1,500 on an air filter, injector kit and exhaust system on a
2003 325I, is it worth it and realistically, how much horsepower can I
expect?  Also, can I go up two sizes on the Continental tires for width,
etc?  I'm new at this so thanks for your response.
E39 ABS/ASC Problem23 Feb 2005 02:23 GMT2
When I drive away in my 97 528 and hit the brakes it feels like a wee man is
hammering away on my brake peddle - the sensation you get when ABS kicks in
normally - but after a short distance/time the ABS warning light and
traction control warning lights come on and everything ...

Xenon Lights E3922 Feb 2005 23:48 GMT3
Hi all. I have a 01' E39 with normal lights (although the car is equipped
with those tinny washers to the head-lights) I know that this is necessary
to have xenon lights, and i know also that xenon lights are auto-leveled.
Is there any light bulb that i can adapt so i can get xenon ...
Auto tranny reliability on non-BMWs?22 Feb 2005 20:34 GMT11
Anyone care to comment on how reliable other makes of car's autoboxes
are after 100-150k miles? I know that many other makes share the same
boxes as BMWs but I'm curious to know how Japanese and other euro makes
compare.

Check Engine Light - Strong Exhaust Smell21 Feb 2005 20:32 GMT2
I have a 1994 325ic. My check engine light came on a few days ago and I
haven't had the opportunity to have the code read yet. Autozone doesn't have
the tool for pre-1996 cars. Anyway, ever since the light came on I have
noticed a much stronger than normal exhaust smell when I ...

E34 instrument cluster problems.21 Feb 2005 17:53 GMT1
Wife's early (89) E34 525i cluster is playing up.  Temp gauge only went
occassionally and speedo was playing up sometimes.  I took it apart and put
it back together again and now speedo hardly goes at all, except when you go
over 100 kph and needle will simetimes bounce all over the ...

Does anyone know if the height at which my clutch "takes" can be

find it difficult to depress the clutch all the way.
Just a tad annoying....
Water pump but what else too?21 Feb 2005 02:29 GMT4
I was 12 miles from home when I heard and felt the first scream and
judder. "Check coolant" flashed up so I put some water in and noticed
it was steaming and smelling of antifreeze and as it was dark I nursed
it home and on the way the alternator light came on at the same time
