Anyone know if these are easily installed by a home mechanic? (eg. are any
special tools required)
Kenwood Head unit in 04 Elantra GT - hyundaitech?04 Mar 2005 21:02 GMT3
To all you 04 GT owners with the Kenwood head unit, any problems?  After
about 6 months, I noticed that occasionally when you push one of the pre-set
buttons the display will flash off for a second but the CD or radio still
plays.  After about 13 months I noticed upon start-up that ...
E30 diffs, two different bolt layouts?04 Mar 2005 21:01 GMT1
Just tried to replace the diff on my '90 318iS (lasted 182k, not bad)
with one from a '90 318i (didn't see the donor car in person I might
add). The bolt patterns where it connects to the subframe are different
on the new diff.
Considering early 5-series Touring04 Mar 2005 20:15 GMT2
Hello all, I am looking for some feedback on early 5-series Touring (station
wagon) models. I am in the US, so I believe this would be 91-95 models? Either
525 or 530? I am looking to replace a 92 Volvo 740 Turbo wagon, which is a
great car but a bit of a truck to drive. Looking ...
CHECK ENGINE light?04 Mar 2005 19:18 GMT12
I drive a 1995 325is (Canadian).
Recently on a very cold day the "check Engine" light on the dashboard
came on.  I didn't think much of it since I Know the car needs an oil
change.  I always have it serviced when the oil light comes on and take
Automatic Transmission Question03 Mar 2005 22:04 GMT2
A few months back my 1992 525i Touring Wagon's auto tranny decided to die,
slipping in each gear. At 150,000 my mechanic recommended changing the
tranny oil, and shortly thereafter the problems ensued.
I took my car to supposedly the best BMW auto transmission place here in
3 yr old New Jersey 330 in Atlanta - rust inevitable?03 Mar 2005 19:37 GMT26
I am in the process of searching for a 3 series BMW.  Looked at leasing
a new one -- but the payment was outrageous, so I have been looking at
more budget-accommodating 2001 - 2002 330s and 325s.
I found a car that I am happy with -- a 2001 330 sedan. The exterior
Clutch Delay Valve...03 Mar 2005 17:37 GMT4
Has anyone had any experience with replacing this valve with a
modified valve?

BMW 525 or 530, Lease or Buy03 Mar 2005 13:35 GMT2
Hello I?m trying to make some major decisions between getting a 525i
or 530i. Is there such a difference in what the 530 offers (other than
the obvious options) to justify a $4,000 price increase?
Also, I?m trying to decide between leasing or buying the car. Any
BMW - Easy to work on?02 Mar 2005 21:36 GMT2
Hey again,
Thinking of getting a 330ix, or possibly a 530 (wish it came in xi form),
and was wondering how difficult it is to do your own repairs on a BMW.  I
have a Nissan Maxima that I do all the major work on.  I've done the whole
E30 clutch at 340,000km02 Mar 2005 21:27 GMT5
We just pulled the clutch from my iX, not because it was worn out, but
because the throwout bearing went.  The clutch is stamped with 5/88, making
it original, and it was still fully funtional -- if not for the bearing
failure I would still be driving on it.
2005 M3 Competition Package02 Mar 2005 17:52 GMT27
I am planning to buy 2005 M3 soon. I had 2001 330 ci for 4 years and I
was very satisfied with the performance, but the lease has ended and I
had to return it. They say once you own a Bimmer you'll be a Bimmer
owner forever, so I am planning to get this car now with all the

Ok. I am having a terrible problem with knocking and pinging. The car runs
good, but when it shifts into the next gear it has a series of knocking and
pinging. When the car is cold, it seems to be fine. When it warms up is when
the problem begins. It is a 93 325i with auto ...
