wheels, tires and suspension suggestions16 Mar 2005 02:53 GMT6
 I have a '96 328i, 102,000 miles, with stock suspension and 15" wheels.
This is my daily driver, 70 miles/day mostly highway in the NY-NJ area.  I
have dedicated snow tires for winter use.
Any advice on changing to 16" or 17" wheels?  I'm considering 17x7 1/2".
How fast do the lights go out?16 Mar 2005 01:24 GMT8
I had my 1998 535i serviced at 114888 miles. It is now just over
118000 miles and one bar of the service panel is now out and I only
have 3 greens showing. How many miles will it be before they all go
out please?
Bad O2 sensor16 Mar 2005 00:10 GMT12
Is it possible for the Check Engine Light to be triggered by an overdue
oil change?  For example:  diriving around with a red oil light for 3
months in the cold?  Just wondering.  And will an oil change fix the
problem and make the light go off?  Or does that sensor now have to be

A tire flat spot or something more serious?14 Mar 2005 19:30 GMT1
I just took my 1998 Z3 out of storage.  I notice a noise coming from the
front when I am moving slowly (< 20 km/h).  The noise is like driving over
an expansion joint on a highway.  Could this be a flat spot or something
else?

Are 97 528's reliable?14 Mar 2005 18:30 GMT10
I'm new to BMW's, usually liek Honda/Acura and Toyota.  I've found a 97
528iwith 110,000 miles.  It looks to be in good shape and it's really sharp.
The asking price is $10,900 so I bet I could get it down to $10,000.  From
what I found looking this model up this would be a very ...
e38  Check brake lining??14 Mar 2005 17:59 GMT2
I've changed the front brake pads and the light is still on.  I will check
the rear pads and replace if needed.  However is there a reset for this or
does the sensor detect the pads are fine and the warning goes away or could
it be a bad sensor?
e38 Gear Shifing rough 14 Mar 2005 15:25 GMT5

Refreshed 713 Mar 2005 20:42 GMT21
One of the Sunday Times UK motoring journalists, Andrew Frankel, rated
himself not a fan of the updated BMW 7 despite the many improvements and his
love of the 3 and 5.
He still thinks that the Merc S-Class does luxury saloons/sedans the best.
