I have owned 2 BMW 740s, and lately a 745Li. I am thinking of moving to an X5. All of them seem very thirsty by comparison to my 7 series, with the exception of the 3.0d. However, I'm going for a test drive in one tomorrow hopefully.

Everyone know that when a engine (oil temp) is cold we should not take it to high revs as the oil is still thick and doesn't do it job right. My question to anyone o knows more about the subject is, what is considered high revs?

Well My original diagnosis was wrong. Thermostat is not bad. Radiator is cracked. Iam done for. Broke down and called AutoHaus here in Virginia.

I am having vibration problems at speeds between 30mph and 70mph. If i hit rough road or bumps the steering wheel shakes and vibrates the car has been in to bmw and had new discs and pads, lower rear bushes, new steering column lower and upper and a new set of 18" alloys and tyres.
